Manchester City 2-1 Newcastle United (21/02/26) | post-match from pg. 47

More than anything that was enough to show me our mentality away from home has changed. We have problems consistently finishing chances, our midfield can get played through too easily, we can be suspect at the back especially because of Trippier, but there is a belief and confidence that didn't exist for much of the season.

Not a good look from Gordon having the City shirt hanging over his shoulders? Or was that just me?

Nah, think it was poor. Stinks of cucking for them desperate for the move.

Absolutely fed up of refs

Where did all the fuckin Sheiks go. When I got into footy you had lads dressing up like Sheikhs every week filming themselves offering bribes. Game has been gone since they stopped fearing it.

Would love to know the amount of ground Osula covers compared to the amount of times he actually touches the ball

Hes running around like a brainless dog.

Good effort against these rolling around tosspots. Would've took Willock off for joelinton and kept woltemade on he Might of found a run from gordon late in the half.

I always find it really depressing that we have to bring on people like Barnes and Murphy who we know won’t be able to make a difference in this kind of game. That’s the difference in the two squads I suppose.

Some poor decisions from the ref at the end there when they were clearly diving every time Joe went near them, I guess he should be more careful but there was obviously no foul with the benefit of the tv replay. We looked much worse after we made the changes, Murphy didn't look quick enough to cause a problem and Osula did nothing. I guess people need a rest though. Really good performance though, can't complain about a 2-1 defeat at the Etihad where the crowd are baying for the fulltime whistle to blow to save them.

He traded with Semenyo. Nothing in it.

Didn't see the first half. Second half we were able to get pressure and stop them just boring the game out for the whole half. Unfortunately none of the set pieces came to anything. Just needed one to work.

Realistically they looked very comfortable defensively and had pretty much all the chances but the performance was decent from what I saw. Shame we didn't have a Cherki or Foden to bring on. We really need another playmaker as we had a couple of opportunities to make a chance but the pass wasn't made.

Good news is at least Arteta will be bricking it!

I’d take Villa over the lot of them.

Villa are like the neighbor boy your mom constantly compares you to. Can't help but hope they get AIDS.

I still don’t think I can judge him as a player as I’ve only seen him on the ball about 4 or 5 times.

Well Barnes can do, but looks knackered to me for about a month now he seems leggy.

Not sure what else he’s meant to do mind, since we can never play a ball to him or keep the ball long enough for him to make an attacking run. At least he’s closing people down.

I never back Barnes when we’re chasing a game or against defenders with any real quality. More often that not he looks like a kid playing with adults and can’t do anything.
