Newcastle United 3-1 Brighton & Hove Albion - 02/05/26

Aside from the first 10 minutes we've played fairly well. We've also been lucky with Brighton being wasteful and unlucky. This could have been 3-3 if the margins were on the attackers side.

Did I mention it was going to be one of those games everyone slagged the starting line-up and Howe shuts everyone up again? Did I also mention that this was the game we finally turned up? Am I gloating? Yes, yes and damn straight

by that logic we'd have scored 6

I’d love to see Nick Pope’s stats for just hoofing the ball clean out of play. He must be top of the table for it.

Never stops to surprise me how crap he is with his feet

All he's got to do is kick it straight anywhere near Osula .

We got away with a lot of stupid shit but it's been a much better performance overall, also it's obvious but having Joelinton rather than Ramsey makes a world of difference to our midfield.

Got zero stats to back this up but feels like when we have lower possession like today our form and results are much better.

I have 0 subs until 80th+ minute if it stays 2-0 on my bingo card.

Edit: and we don't get any injuries or red cards

If he plays like this every game he'll be a nightmare for the opposition. If he has space to knock the ball into he's unstoppable.

His speed, willingness to run in behind, taking people on and pressing has been very good. He's a headache to play against. Could have had a hat trick that half.

No other striker in the team gets all the opportunities he managed due to his unique attributes. Can still be a bit rash at times, but far more good than bad.

I was disappointed with the line up, but we’ve played pretty good. Probably why I’m not a premier league manager I suppose.

Osula is good to watch, and fair play to Murphy getting back to his feet for that beautiful cross in.

The midfield is such a better balanced unit with the trio Sandro, Bruno and big Jo in it.

When big Jo is not in there we lack that hunger and aggression.

No, only that we've had significantly more chances than they have
