Guest Alan Shearer 9
luque instead on sibs would of been better, sibs has no technique at all Ermm....what? Sib is one of the few players we have who can trap and bring down a ball. when the ball comes into him on the deck he's not so good though, and against the manure defnders lost the ball whenever he tried to dribble. Having said that Luque would of been a lot worse
Nobody
Milner was MOTM without question for me Solano for me. Took out the most in-form player in the world very well and seemed calm throughout the game. I've been cautious of praising Solano too much at RB, because most games that I've seen it's been against a poorer opposition that didn't put him under too much pressure. He was today, and he coped with it superbly.
Guest jda2006
any monkey could of done that! dont get me wrong he wins plenty of headers but, when he trys to keep the ball up he dont play anyone else in just looses it all the while
Guest Saint Andy
luque instead on sibs would of been better, sibs has no technique at all have you seen luque play when he's fighting for a place? I'd hate to see what he's like just before he's gone for good.

Luque is clearly off id have played Carroll before him
nazza06
Delighted with the draw, a great start to the year. Proud of the defence, really showed maturity and spirit, well done lads. The whole team battled throughout which was nice to see. My only real concern today was the centre of midfield. Without Butt defensively we are exposed and scholes had way too much space and time in the middle when our attacks were broken down. But on the whole i am delighted with the point and particularly proud of the young lads. TOON TOON!
Nicky
Absolutely thrilled. Don't think i've ever celebrated a draw that much before. David Edgar, take a bow son, and enjoy it. Was pleased to see Ferguson praise us too

Paulie Walnuts
To his credit Fergie was full of praise for Newcastle. You wouldn't get that from Wenger, he'd just blame something or other.

gonufc
My ratings: Given: 8 - Made some vital saves although he might have done better with Scholes' second Solano: 7 - Calm and composed although gave possesion away cheapy a couple of times Taylor: 8 - Solid Huntington: 6 - Couple of shaky moments but generally did well Edgar: 8 - Great debut out of position Dyer: 7 - Good running and did well to last the 90 minutes Parker: 8 - Tireless effort and released the ball quicker than usual Emre: 6 - Ok defensively but didn't do much going forward Milner: 9 - Gave 110% and scored a terrific goal. A threat going forward and some great tracking back. My MAN OF THE MATCH Sibierski: 7 - Good hold up play against a strong Man Utd defence Martins: 6 - Tried his best but his passing was very suspect Pattison: 7 - Played well in the short time he was on. NUFC06
Two players who are 20 years old scoring goals against may be the future champions Milner,Solano were the best for me Another shocking performance by Emre
JH
Two players who are 20 years old scoring goals against may be the future champions Milner,Solano were the best for me Another shocking performance by Emre To be fair to Emre though, He was carrying an injury from the 5th minute onwards and soldiered on. I don't think he was that bad.
Guest Alan Shearer 9
I thought Parker had some very poor moments for a captain.
Dragon55544
what has fergie said? Just said that Newcastle was full of character and fully deserved the point we got and that SJP is becoming a very hard play to goto. Also said we never gave up and was first to every ball. Well he said something like that

Mike
Solono is easily MOM in my eyes. Martins was invisible, but he had the entire Man U defense marking him. Missed the first 20 minutes, but Dyer seemed invisible to me. Edgar was great, didn't notice one mistake from him. Far cry from Bramble and Ramage. Milner deserved his goal. I hope he chooses to shoot more often than cross. Solano for Captain.
Syrette
Another shocking performance by Emre What are you on about? Did you watch the game? Certainly wasn't his finest but given how many knocks he took I won't hold that against. Wasn't that bad at all.

Guest keego_nufc
Everyone here has always overlooked Edgar in the reserves I remember last year someone made a poll about which youngster would turn out best and Edgar wasnt included and I asked why and they laughed. Never been more proud to be a Newcastle and Canadian Footie fan David Edgar's father who was a former newcastle player was at the game to BOOT http://www.canadian-soccer.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=11060 This game was on TV in Canada check out what the guys say about it A few months ago people wouldnt have selected him for the CMNT hes gonna be a force in the U-20 WYC With Canada at home they could make a push with Edgar, WIll Johnson (Heerenveen), Jaime Peters and possibly wonder kid Jonathan De Guzman Edgar is a player who loves the big matches In june Canada beat Brazil with help from Edgar's volley
