Newcastle United bosses have confirmed that the sign is coming down, but say it will be replaced with new, identical lettering.

That's good I guess but it's still a f***ing disgrace that it's being taken down anyway. It didn't need to be moved ffs!

However, a club spokesman said they were unable to confirm or deny mounting speculation that commercial signage promoting owner Mike Ashley’s company, Sports Direct, would be added to the stand.

This however means that Sports Direct signs are almost certainly going to be put up there. There's enough (in fact too many) around the St. James' already Ashley you c***.

I found the short lived chants of "Sports Direct is fucking shit" quite pleasing last season.

The fans should all turn up to matches with banners advertising JJB.

What an idea!

We are 'funded' somewhat by sports direct but it would be a cool display against MA&DL.

You need to get the Journal/chronicle to back it and then print it as a pullout

good timing by ashley to remove the sign,  gets into the news now and everyone kicks off a fuss but with over 3 weeks till the next home game the furore will have subsided somewhat.  Obviously it'll kick off again when fans walk into SJP for the Blackburn game and see whatever has been put up there for themselves.

Thought it was a bit pathetic of .com to try and protect the photograph they've got.

Firefox was having none of their antics.

I know. You'd think he'd have had the decency to arrange a friendly this week so we could have all gone along and kicked up fuck when it's still a hot issue. Baastard.
