I'd be in favour of a new stadium, purely so as to allow access to those who are locked out. It's a generational opportunity in more ways than one. A new stadium for us will easily be closer to a billion dollars ala Spurs stadium, I’d imagine. They won’t spare any expense if that’s the route they go. edit: I also just looked up the newest football stadium in America, SoFi Stadium and that cost 5.5 billion. These could change obvs. I think the planning permission is due to lapse soon. In saying that, until they start developing it, it would likely be available for fee, just like the Strawberry land. You would need to develop the whole area around it though, because it is fucking grim around all those garages. Well the football argument is that rebuilding the stadium is a way to channel non-FFP funds into the club (by investing in "infrastructure") which can then create FFP income (via matchday, corporate and sponsorship income). Giving us a stadium as good as any in the league would a long way to cementing us amongst the elite.
