Aye, but ours would seat people, rather than being an oversized dolls house with lots of plastic figures inside it. Danh1
Pizza Rob has had a few things right in the past, but not for ages. 75k would be too big imo, 65k the sweet spot. The club are the ones with the data though. Said before I don’t want a new stadium but I’ve accepted it. Just hope it’s different and has bags of character. LFEE
Still never understand the “65K is the sweet spot” rhetoric. The demand is already far surpassing that for basic tickets without even expanding the corporate areas and fulfilling the waiting list for them and that’s just the football alone. Got to look further down the line when we crack PSR and can compete and secure some of the best signings for decades to come. We’ve really got to be aiming to have the biggest stadium in the league or thereabouts to catch up. Building anything smaller or similar size to our competitors just keeps the status quo unless there is a rule change. The smaller the stadium the higher the ticket price increases will continue to be. I appreciate the idea of having people locked out to maintain a certain degree of value to the ticket price but it be foolish to have 10k plus missing out every game as and when we grow. People have this weird hangup about some empty seats as if it matters Much better to have extra capacity than it is too have too little leaving money i On the table week in week out. Conjo
Building a brand new stadium just to increase capacity by a little over 10k seems an awful waste. I'd love for us to have a stadium size where I can on a whim book tickets to get to Newcastle and know that I'll be able to get ticket for the match instead of having to plan weeks/months ahead. Huge areas of "growth" for corporate. Access to the next generations. Suitability for alternate revenue events. If the capacity was 65,000, for example, and that meant Mrs G & I couldn't get season tickets we'd want it increased to 65,
Stifler
65k isn’t enough, and considering they said a new stadium would have a lot more seats than an extended SJP which everyone estimates to hold 60k, it is quite apparent that it would be more than 65k. Personally I think 80k is the sweet spot. We have to consider that since the pandemic, event attendance/demand is on the up. That’s everything from football, large concerts, to bands playing in pubs. We as a club have the duo fa tors of demand being the after effects of the pandemic, and the takeover from Ashley, to a possible trio factor if we gain success. Checko
I think it should be 69k, just because even the most hardcore stay at SJP would have to admit... Spoiler

Dokko
If we're gonna move it has to be worthwhile and worthwhile is 75k. 60-65k is achievable stsying put, so if it's a new stadium pizza Rob guesstimate is probably right.
