Guest HTT II
They’ve missed a trick, they could have invited the window lickers in our fanbase to do the job for nowt, like the mackems did with getting fans to take down their pink seats for new ones. Another own goal by the new owners! Edited October 19, 2021 by HTT II
BigValley
Talk about name Rights on the stadium so lets have a poll if we want a name on the stadium and money to the club.

The whole deal can only go through if the xenophobic EPL say its a competitive business deal though..... I bid £800 million to rename the stadium St James Park. Montey
I didn't like it when Ashley attempted to rename St. James' Park - but the thing that really made my piss boil was that the club didn't benefit from it. If the club receives revenues, at a fair market rate (i.e. what should be reasonably paid to rename such a culturally significant landmark) then I still won't like it but I could live with it - if it still made reference to St. James' Park (e.g. "Saudia St. James' Park"). Superior Acuña
Maybe I could just about stomach 'Pizza Hut's St James' Park' or whatever if could see benefits, like they did with the FA Cup, but I'd hate a total rename (Pizza Hut Stadium). mrmojorisin75
That's what I was thinking, if they somehow keep SJP in the name it'd be much more palatable to me than a total rename.
Guest
Birmingham’s owners call theirs St Andrews Trillion Trophy Stadium. I’ve never called it that but if it’s a way of getting money in. Internationally as the club grows though, it’ll get their brand out there while keeping St James Park in it.

TheGuv
I’m sorry like. You can’t be happy with PIF changing the stadium name because they’ll throw a bit of money at it. Can we not remember the outpouring of dismay when the name was changed to the Sports Direct Arena? The hypocrisy stinks. Even if Ashley paid £20m a year for the naming rights people still would have been aghast.
Kanj
If the money is clearly invested back into the club and team, no issue with me.
Pixelphish
It's probably inevitable when we need to maximise every revenue stream going but it still doesn't sit well. Would be more palatable on a new stadium
PauloGeordio
The owners when engaging the fans may even have a vote on choices of brand name? I’m sure they’d be transparent regarding revenue and plough back into the club also. I’m not overly comfortable with it, but wouldn’t rule it out.
