Why would this club want to keep a player who obviously doesn't want to be here? If this was Ashley Cole and he didn't have the decency to communicate with the club after having received an offer he'd be ripped apart on this and every other football forum around the country. Either because they want to keep him (why wouldn't they) or to protect his resale value when we're swamped with offers from Champions League clubs. He's waiting for either us to impress him or somebody to show interest in him (which isn't a guarantee). It's early June, so its no surprise we're still in a stalemate stage. I believe he's willing to stay here if we buy some real quality in the next few weeks, but it could still go either way. A compromise would be a buyout clause of £12-15m.
