Agreed, don’t think that could be argued tbh.
-
Howe not allowed to bid for £120m winger who already has one.
-
Feels like we are seeing an opportunity here with Forest likely being PSR tight, he’s a great player too. Although I might prefer some more technical ability, he’s is absolutely in fitting with the bread and butter of our system and identity - physical attributes. He’ll upset a few of you on here if he’s signed, but you’ll all come around like you did on Gordon.
-
From Forest fans “Well Newcastle fans don't want him, Saying he is bang average, one dimensional, One fan has gone as far as saying they will jump off a cliff if they sign Elanga. Who do they think they are seriously. Elanga would be a massive improvement on Purple Patch Murphy.” ”They obviously haven't seen the impact his set pieces have had this season, anyway his one dimension is better than the 4 dimensions of Anthony Gordon when 3 of them involve him looking to artificially win free kicks or penalties and the other one is looking exactly like my mates mam did in the 1980s.” “Also Jacob Murphy has had success this season finding the net 8 times in the EPL, but 4 of those were against Leicester, 1 against Ipswich, 1 against Palace before they decided to play football well, 1 against us and 1 in a defeat to Fulham so his purple patch is not even that good really.” “Hope they start bidding soon as last time we ended up getting £20m for a poor keeper and Anderson off of them, I'd take maybe Livramento or Hall for £30m this time.” “For context they want 80m for 5 goals/6 assists (and older) older Gordon... Bidding starts there.”

Think this is just the typical cycle we'll go through with some of these signings. Feels like the reaction to the Gordon signing all over again. In the end though, I think we'll all be pleasantly surprised.
-
Eh? He’s hardly an idiot, he’s a very good crosser of the ball and he’s only just turned 23. He’s not just pace
-
Snap your hand off for him ahead of Madueke, mind.
-
Howe cannot teach him football brain

Hope they would give him another crack Ten Hag style. They might hire someone competent. -
Exactly. Good stats for a kid over the past two seasons.
-
Yes agree with that. I just think we need something else if we want to grow. He will fit in with Howe no doubt.
-
And he's much quicker, suits those breaks we like to make.
-
Don’t think anyone is denying that tbf, rather is he the right type of profile to help push us even further. What’s more, at the likely fee, we are probably going to be left short in other areas.
-
Another positive factor is the Swedish connection. Aren’t he and Isak mates? Would help with the transition.
-
and of course nearly a decade younger
-
We paid £40 million odd for Gordon who had achieved nowhere near what Elanga has the past two seasons. Elanga has just turned 23 too. No chance he's going for less than £50 million. Be very fortunate if we pull that off.
-
Think he's got a much higher ceiling than Murphy tbh.
-
If the choice is between a technical player and a physical specimen, Howe is going to opt for the latter. Players that check both boxes are rare and $$$
-
Would love him, cracking young player. Howe will turn him into a great player.
-
if true there's probably a good deal to be done given we've done so much business with Forest before he's a good PL player with potential to improve a lot imo
-

Guys, it's not we see now, it's what Howe can turn him into, surely we've all learnt that by now.
-
Same. Said Levy would have no problem getting rid of him, he got rid of Mourinho specifically so he wouldn't be able to claim he'd been a success because he'd won a cup.
-
Just pay the £60m odd for Mbuemo man. He literally covers two positions. If there's still a chance to hijack that deal we have to do it
