They're where they should be now. Since the war they're 21st overall, since Kennedy was shot 27th, the 10years prior to the PL 23rd and in the PL era 18th. That probably averages out at where they are now. Much as they deride it, 'football didn't start in 1992' and all that, the PL era is a pinnacle of league performance for them in the last 75years the only count by which they'd be in a top 20. Would be better off pretending football did start in 1992.

I don’t think anyone’s against shopping in other markets, as you say it’s probably becoming, at least partly, a necessity. But it seems to me a mixed approach to where you recruit from is always best in the long run. Quansah has played for England at every single age group and just made the full squad. That’s exactly the type of player profile that Eddie has excelled in taking to the next level.
-
The overlap with Tino is working well. He can lay over to Tino for the cross or cut on his right and cross/shoot.
-
I guess the key in that letter (if genuine) is the fact it outlines Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd and Tottenham as seemingly trying to push rules onto the PL (probably for their own benefit, in the main), and telling them how they (those clubs) believe things should be. No surprise there, then.
-
Personally hope we're diverging from over investing in the English market this summer having had our wings clipped by PSR, although value has worked out thus far on the targets we've acquired (Tino, Hall, Gordon...). If the club do it then of course, being serious, I trust their moves but hope we're a bit more creative than getting a Liverpool cast off at a premium (irrespective of perceived talent). That's hopefully where Mitchell comes in. Fuck the cartel sentiment still holds.
-
If he’s a main target, that’s been tracked for a while, it’s absolutely irrelevant IMO. If it were more of a stop-gap signing, then perhaps there’s an argument.
-
Nah. Not for a Quansah.
-
I don't think there is anything wrong with that really, and the PL didn't actually go down that route. I think Man City would be happy for the PL to just duplicate UEFA's rules, they said something along those lines in their evidence in the APT case.
-
Small time thinking. If it’s a player we want, the selling club is irrelevant.
-
Giving Liverpool money? In this economy? You're having a bath, fuck the cartel.
-
-
Yeah he's stepped it up, showing he has more in his locker than give and goes and a clinical finish. Would love to see him up his contribution
-
No small fee either. They've definitely seen something in him so wouldn't turn my nose up at that signing at all.
-
Besides anything else I think Gordon off the bench is cracking option for the time being too.
-
They've definitely distorted rules in Arsenal's favour - I mean every change that's made they're one of the few that always benefit - its just whether that was a coincidence or favour. All this chaos is basically to suit Arsenal and co.
-
Tbf, when you watch the Matchcam, you can see BigJoe on his case as well 😂
-
When that PSR drama was kicking off and Gordon to Liverpool was in discussion, apparently he was the priority initially as part of the deal but Liverpool refused, and so Gomez was then the alternative.
-
I have so much respect for Schar. He would've had a horrible time sat on the bench whilst a poor central midfielder took his place under that odious spam tin of a manager. It takes real determination to see that through and then pick yourself up to perform at the level he has these last few years. Ironically, it might've contributed to making him an even better footballer. You can learn a lot when everything is against you.
-
He’s a big game player. He’ll score in champions league final one day. for us hopefully
-
I get the sense Quansah's one of those players they've had their eye on for far longer than we'd ever know. I completely trust they know a top player when they see one.
-
Until I seen it just now would never have even considered Quahsah but can really see it now if he's wanting out. Position we need and just the age we look at.
-
As a player who's constantly dishing out bollockings, I loved that Isak took it well too.
- Today

Replacement for Fab, can play RB, CB. Slot quotes on him as “strong, fast and comfortable with the ball”
-
We parked the bus that day.. It was unbelievable.

Mats Hummels retiring at the end of the season.
