Tbh, it was just an example. Maybe he isn’t the best player to use because perhaps there’s a theory we could get even more than that if he was sensational again next season. I suppose what I was trying to say was that in general I’d be against release clauses, unless the amount is so significant it completely transforms one, two, maybe even three windows for us, and perhaps allows a wage structure increase alongside that. If we look at Huijsen, who the convo originated about, making ~35m off him is great, but, for us, it probably buys one very good, or maybe two good players. Set against the (what I would consider negative) impact that has on the perception of the club externally, that’s nowhere near enough.

Can tell the heat is getting to some on this forum. Saturday night and arguing about Lee Clark. I blame climate change.
-
He was diabolical, horrific to have to watch him put on the shirt
-
Can anyone give me anything, anything at all positive about Smith? An effective match he had, an assist, any kind of crumb of decency? The goal in the friendly (I was there!) doesn't count - competitive contribution only. Him getting sent off in the closing stages of our away win at Cardiff as we got the promotion season up and running for fouling an opponent on a threatening breakaway is about all I can muster. Even when he did something vaguely good it involved him getting a red card.
-
The bloke who has just left is en route to Sparta Prague. His career is very much on the up, unlike Clarks.
-
So no better than Clark management wise. Id say Clark’s playing ability is a match for that which he could translate given a chance. What was the management record of the bloke who’s just left!? Or Jack Ross etc etc… FFS Clark isn’t going to get the gig. Relax 🧘🏻♀️

Graeme Jones has been a highly regarded coach in the game for a long time. Can the same be said of Clark? Not at all if we're being honest.
-
Yeah well you'll never win anything with kids... IYKYK. 🤣
-
Wow. That's crazy.
-
Forest are likely to be back in PSR shit next summer with their owner, swoop in and do them a favour with a £50m deal (plus Vlac going back).
-
Ah so Graeme Jones average 1 year spell at Luton means we should hire Lee Clark. I get it now Let's forget his coaching ability winning an FA Cup with Wigan and finals with England. The Sudanese league have clearly missed a trick
-
40 year old Cazorla on minimum wage 15 mins away from getting promoted to La Liga with his local club Oviedo
-
you can see he has the capability to score though. It’s not beyond him. We have to get him back in the next couple of seasons. He would love to come back as well.
-
Needs to add goals.
-
Still never answered my question on Graeme Jones management history? I think he’d be similar to Jones with his messaging and coaching fundamentals. Not saying he’s heir to the throne ffs
-
Our team just with minteh and Anderson looks so much better equipped for this season. That was a killer blow. Feels like without them there’s too much to replace in one Summer.
-
One of the most ridiculous suggestions I can remember reading on here Be like giving Keegan the director of football job
-
Stones always had a mistake in him. He should have been a holding midfielder.
-
Henri Saivet was amazing on FM a tricky winger / striker but for some reason played CM/DM for us. Out of him, Alan Smith and Joelinton, Joes the only crap striker turned great midfielder. The others have been terrible
-
Everytime, and I mean everytime that I have seen Quansah play he has been utter garbage.
-
youve just put him forward as the lead coach for the U21s? That's the managers job isn't it?
-
I see a lot of people saying this, but I don't really see the upside of that for us (regarding Isak). As it is, he's still under contract for another 3 years, where we hold all the cards. If he signs a new contract with a £150m release clause, he's probably leaving next summer and there's nothing we can do about it. All the while we'll be paying him more for the next 12 months as well
-
We'll see how it plays out over the next few years. I think there's a lot to work with there. Seen far better defenders do similar in their early years. Stones at Everton was full of blunders.
-
Hopefully gets himself sorted but we shouldn’t be making pity hires even if his contacts in Sudan are top notch.
