Nah, not on the wind up. I watched a few vids on him when we were first linked, then decided to watch some full games, and he's a brilliant player. Physically, has it all. He's hard working, a fantastic dribbler, very good finisher and technically brilliant - rarely seen him give the ball away, but the thing that impresses me the most is his vision. He's one of those players who sees things others don't. Almost Özil-esque with some of his passing. There's a reason the 3 richest clubs in the world are after you.

The way it is approached is the issue. There were people saying that we should spend this summer's budget on two or three 'purples' and we'd be competing for the league. We need to spread that money out for at least 5 players, and there has to be a good level of versatility with at least two of those players. The squad has been neglected for over a year now, and some current members of the squad are now aged out and most are there as just bodies, as they can't really contribute in an impactful way.

It's become such a weird fixture this one over the last couple of years in that whoever wins has won comfortably but in the long run it hasn't negatively impacted either team . We just need to write this one off and move on.

So based on what Villa and Forest have done on loan ins etc, should we of done similar or are we at a massive disadvantage due to our ownership.

Think the Osula and Hall situations are completely different tbh. Honestly think Osuala was a bit of a punt and he is nowhere near being good enough for us. I’d be amazed if he doesn’t go on loan next season.

Bringing in four players made a big difference. We are easing Gordon back you would think after his injury, but it is concerning that there is no confidence in bringing other players in the squad to make fresh changes after 3 games in 6 days. We should certainly be looking to move on Longstaff, Willock, Target, Krafth and Wilson this Summer. Miley and Osula are young, but it's noticeable that Miley is not getting much game time even coming on as a substitute. Osula we will see next season I presume as the same questions were being asked about Hall last season.

I've always been of the opinion that we need a creative midfielder. Someone who can dictate the game in the middle of the park. Our midfield currently either dominates the opposition midfield or at times are totally dominated. Strange one to fathom as they have dominated the midfield of the two top teams, so you can't say it's due to a step up in quality. Long answer just to say I agree.
