They’ll have parachute payments, and be a favourite to come back up.
  3. Not sure. But our targets are all at clubs who aren’t desperate to sell and/or have competition from bigger clubs for their players. If speed was so necessary, we’d be shopping in a different pool of players.
  4. It’s not a smart fee they’ve paid tbh
  5. Wonder if he'll take the number 9. Be a bit edgy from a NUFC lore perspective seeing as he's not an out-and-out CF.
  6. In fairness he played every game until an ankle injury kept him out for a few games - there’s little doubt he was a Strasbourg first choice XI player.
  7. Nicky Butt didn’t spit his dummy out and go on loan. Dubravka decided Man Utd’s bench appealed more than ours for a bit - a decision that may be a reason why he has two LC medals but we’ve only won one.
  8. Agreed, it’s why we were interested in Cunha as well. Not that many players around.
  9. JP is a fairly unique profile. City love that profile. Alvarez. Marmoush played at striker and AM.
  10. Seems that the press are reporting discussions as official bids (same as Guehi). According to Romano, Chelsea haven't bid yet.
  11. Depends on coefficient potentially but it would be close. Which is the point of it I guess.
  12. I know it's True Faith but their latest podcast is utterly disgraceful.
  13. Still wouldn’t be shocked if it’s Brighton saying Chelsea have bid to make us up our offer. Interested to know who our plan B is though if we do miss out.
  14. If PIF wanted too they could pay 80% of Durans wages for us. But it’s a bigger priority for them to save money on Durans wages than help NUFC it seems. But PIF are doing everything they can to take us to the top.

But they will not be in the Premier league next April/May.
  16. Difficult to know for sure, but is he? Is he the one in charge of deciding wages / transfer fee? Genuine question. We seem uniquely transfer constipated.
  17. *sigh* Annoying. Chelsea again. Wish players would turn them down at some point but it doesn’t happen for whatever reason.
  18. If Chelsea really want him they will get him , they can pay far more money and more importantly wages than we can .
  19. Job number one for a head coach or manager is to motivate a team. He couldn’t do that at all. He was awful and he did a vastly inferior job to Pardew and Bruce. That’s the thing about Howe. Before anything he gets players to give their all and he prioritises that mindset in his squad and team selection. Harvey Barnes has had to become a hard working winger to keep his place in this side. You can’t execute a good tactical plan without a motivated team. Obviously Howe is an ace tactician too but maximising his players effort is an absolute non negotiable for Howe and physical exertion is super high on his must have compared to say Emery. All that ‘protecting the players’ shit was misguided. Sometimes you gotta put your hands up - admit it’s been shit and you’ll all reflect and come back stronger.
  20. This isn’t meant to be jab at Howe, but I’m sure he’s OK with it given he is somewhat responsible.
  21. New non update klaxon 🥱 all parties agree the move “should be completed” wtf does that mean
  22. The odds will be worse for survival if they get off to a good start.

Fair play to them, at least they're giving it a go and not just banking the cash.
