  1. Past hour
  2. Imagine if our first signing this summer from a foreign club was for a British player
  3. If Villa do sell their womens team, it will be interesting to see what value they've placed on it. Chelsea sold theirs for 200 million, but they've won the WSL year on year and consistently challenged (but always fallen slightly short) for the champions league. Villa by contrast are awful! They're in the WSL, but constant managerial changes and rubbish transfers mean they're no where near Chelsea levels!
  4. That’s probably fair. No way to know how “massive” the sponsorship deals would have been without APT constraints though. Depends on how willing they were to take money out of one pocket to put in the other so-to-speak.
  5. It'll be like the Simon Grayson season all over again
  6. If you all want to continuously post in a thread about Sunderland, without any actual Sunderland input, carry on
  7. The idiom "out of the woodwork" refers to something or someone appearing suddenly and unexpectedly, often after being hidden or unnoticed for a period of time. It often implies that the appearance is opportunistic, with the newly emerged entity seeking to gain something or express an opinion.
  8. He's a Northerner, not wet behind the ears like all these soft arses who think you need to live down south where its over crowded, over priced, full of unfriendly ignorant toffs. I'm pretty sure this one will happen, and at least we all know he wants to come here, we only want players like this.
  9. Some WhatsApp rumours about this lad signing for us: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Max_Johnston_(footballer) Right back playing at Sturm Graz, originally from Boro.
  10. I don't really think that's the whole truth. Yeah, PSR was a thing, but fair market value wasn't. APT, you know, Associated Party Transactions, that came in later. That's why Mandy went nuts on the Cartel. They thought they could get around PSR with massive sponsorship deals. I reckon it's wrong to say anything different.
  11. Are you still coming out with the same shite as you were 12 months ago when you had us down to be relegated from the Championship? The worse you say we are / going to be, the opposite seems to happen, keep it up Brutey fella.
  12. Somebody work out how much we’ve paid him over the years dived by game time Actually don’t
  13. Farewell, sweet prince.
  14. I think they've learned via the LIV stuff with golf they just can't bulldoze their way into buying sports etc. We are a small fish in a large ocean of investments. They are doing a similar strategy now with cricket as with football I would say.
  15. Nope. They just don’t want to keep losing money and PSR is a way for them to limit their spending. It’s only Villa and Chelsea who seem determined to invest at a crazy rate for a sustained period of time. We don’t. Forest have slowed down.
  16. Dr.Spaceman

    Paul Mitchell

    Paralysis as a service
  17. Whereas their signings don't need to step aside as no other club are interested in them. It's going to be great seeing their meltdown When the season starts and the realism hits home
  18. For me it's more the fact that they've always been in danger of a PSR punishment but then they do some dodgy shit, get away with it, then spend another couple of hundred million with absolutely no consequences. The PL seem happy enough to let them work away at it while putting the squeeze on everyone else. The whole thing is a complete farce. Just another window of Chelsea doing whatever they want.
  19. OK, you seem like a nice chap. Hopefully you arent too depressed come September.
  20. Chelsea literally don’t need a scouting team, just let teams like us do the hard work then swoop in
  21. Don't need to, just wait for us to agree fees then match it and add on a few extra £'s in wages and done.
  22. My thoughts on it exactly. I think it was more the suggestion that we might start to play with a link man between the midfield and attack. It is what many think has been lacking in certain games, myself included. But then again, the money involved seemed steep and I'm not sure £60m on him would have been the best use of our limited funds. Especially when we have positions in the current starting XI that need addressing more urgently. Just to echo what everyone else has said. If you want to join Chelsea, then good luck. I don't think any club needs that kind of personality in their squad.
