  1. Past hour
  2. The Blaydon Races were horse races. Rowing was massive on Tyneside in the mid-C19th, and the world’s best rowers came from the area - but they weren’t the Blaydon Races.
  3. People thinking £35m for Minteh is rinsing us is the same as people saying £25m for ASM was. ie, bollox 😉
  4. Hoy, don't fuck with the Hedgehogs, you fucking West End philistine. 🦔 💩 in ya mush
  5. duo

    Isaac Hayden

    cheers Bruce
  6. Nah, that’s not fair like - she’s been involved in this stuff for years, and not just re Leazes Park That doesn’t mean I agree with her - but I don’t think she’s just doing this to fuck the club ovet
  7. Erikse

    Isaac Hayden

I agree, but there's a link in my post. It was more about the state of todays football media (read the article to waste some minutes of your life).

    NUFC kits & merchandise

Aye Liverpool is what I first thought of
  9. £40-50k a week just being frittered away. Can't blame him for not walking away like, his next contract will be about 1/10th of this one.
  10. Erikse

    Isaac Hayden

Absolutely mind boggling news. Can't believe he did this.
  11. They'd probably be happy to spunk it all on bringing big Vlach home if their owner didnt happen to have inside info from Notts Forest
  12. How much do you think he's worth now?
  13. Would hardly say Brighton took us to the cleaners. £35M for a player with zero prem experience, is hardly a piss take. Granted he did well in Holland.
  14. And no 'home fans only' shite
  15. We've got as far as we have by being aggressive. By getting Isak instead of Pedro. Barnes instead of some LW kid. Getting premium youngsters at fullback. Capitalise on having an elite manager at this moment and a strong squad and relatively weak opposition. If we don't push it, we'll finish 7th or lower. Heads will roll regardless if that happens. Time will tell. Edit: I don't think people realise how brutal this new CL format is for squads
  16. That’s absolutely not true. He left because he wanted to build something long term , and he felt all the fed wanted was to get into the World Cup

    St James' Park

You can sit in the Gallowgate and be about 450m from Grey's Monument. It's about as city centre as it's possible to get tbh It's why Newcastle (A) is many fans' favourite awayday on the calendar. Off the train/bus and bosh - city centre, great food, drinking options, no fucking about with taxis and getting about and it's also a fucking mint city to be in even on the worst of days
  18. Strictly speaking St James is as much on the edge of the city centre?
  19. That's totally right. They've got so much money, missing the Champions League for a couple of years won't hurt them. We'd feel it after just one year though. Mandy said we'll be number one in 5-10 years, and we're about to start our fourth season, with two CL qualifications and a Cup already. Let's just be patient and let them do their thing. We're in good hands. It's frustrating sometimes, sure, but that'll make the eventual success even sweeter..
  20. Nine

    England

I think it’s a bit silly to write him off after some meaningless end of season games, those players didn’t look interested at all and wanted to be on holiday. His team selections don’t exactly inspire much confidence but again it’s end of a long season for some players, this guy does know what he’s doing and no doubt rest/rotation played a part. Give it some time. I’d like to see less direct play though, even if the selection is limited in some aspects.
  21. The only things that are going to get us closer to the cartel teams are increased commercial revenues and an academy that produces highly saleable assets at least every other season.
  22. find this extremely funny. Fuck ‘em.
  23. Today
  24. I respectfully disagree with your assessment. While consecutive Champions League qualifications are undoubtedly significant, increased spending and risk-taking this season do not guarantee qualification. With eight teams competing for four or five spots, there's no certainty of achieving back-to-back qualifications, even with a strong squad. From a fan's perspective, I understand the appeal of taking risks. However, our risk-taking has already led to the sale of two players, Miniteh and Anderson. (Incidentally, you spent a considerable portion of last summer questioning the efforts of Wor Mandy and others i.e overspending) The reality of improving our financial position requires a long-term strategy. Reaching Arsenal's revenue levels won't happen in two or three seasons; it will take five years or more. A patient and measured approach is essential. I would rather sell Isak on our terms rather than sell him out of desperation (you said Brighton took us to the cleaners regarding the price of Miniteh) I respectfully disagree with the approach you've suggested; it doesn't seem sound or reasonable. It's understandable given that your job isn't at stake, but those running the club, and I, hold a different perspective. And about bold bit. The problem with that logic is, if we sell Isak after overspending, we won't be able to replace him with anyone good because we'll be just be selling him to meet the PSR (just like with Minteh and Anderson). If we sell Isak on our terms, without overspending first, we can get decent replacements and fill other spots. Get what I mean?
