'In the early days' they'd just taken over their first football club, they will have asked stupid questions. Agents were 'astounded' by it? Howay man, it's sensationalism. I don't know why Emery didn't come but you don't botch your way to scouting and recruiting a manager like Howe, after Emery.
-
It was a frankly pathetic campaign to bully them into making media narrative friendly moves. Hire Gerrard, bed in with some 'super agents', spaff huge amounts on fees and faded star power, and crash and burn for everyone's entertainment over the following two years. Us doing what we did pissed some of them off so much.
-
I don't want to lose any of our good players, but Tonali and Isak are the only ones I think we'd struggle to replace.
-
I was wondering this when the links first came about. No idea. Walker-Peters as back up for the full-back positions to Hall & Tino would have been good but not good enough as first choice.
-
But it probably wasn't bollocks. And the tweet at no point says "they didn't have a clue." It says they fumbled loads of stuff in the early days - which we know they did as they pissed off Emery? Delaney can be an insufferable prat and report accurately. They aren't mutually exclusive.
-
Everyone one has a price, I accept that. But he's probably the third most valuable player in the squad for me. The proceeds from his sale would need to allow Newcastle to simultaneously transact on buying both a replacement left-back and a replacement right back (because that's what he is, and part of why Pep wants him in his smaller squad) as well as leaving Newcastle with a meaningful profit to enable Howe to strengthen the squad. Otherwise I don't see the logic.
-
If we sell tino for anything less then over 100m with a well on clause , like city do then it's a no. The lad is only 22 has prem experience/champs league etc just won a cup we need to start being ruthless so psr is no longer a issue for us in the long term
-
After they've bought Ekitike and another goalkeeper.

Ironically coming from you. No offence but you often say things without facts too if it’s likely/probable, actually even when not if it fits your view.
-
Spurs have about 30 goals from the wide men if that's who they end up with as first choice out of that lot.

There's all sorts of reports out there. No one can know for sure which is true. Reports from Newcastle were claiming we didn't even go any further once we were quoted the fee from Brentford, and didn't speak with the player after that.
-
I don’t want him sold, we won’t sell him. Unless it’s an absolutely ridiculous price like around 80m or more. But let’s not kid ourselves if we get offered 80+ then he’s gone. He is irreplaceable as an individual yes, but on the whole we’d be better off when you consider what possibilities it would open up. it’s not happening though, so it’s still a win. He’s brilliant and has his best years ahead of him and he will get even better.
-
Most reports say he’s only interested in Man Utd. If he’s turning us down, why would he suddenly be interested in Spurs because they came knocking?
-
Brighton are very greedy when they sell, and the price is a lot for someone who mostly scores penalties and links up play. He might be Pedro but he’s no Peter the great. This is coming from someone who really likes him. I can’t stand Psr, and the cartel set up. We identified and wanted him 3 years ago and the stupid financial rules meant we couldn’t afford him at 25m, but now we can afford him at 60m. Im glad I don’t run my personal finances in the same way football clubs are forced to operate, I’d be ruined.
-
PSR has absolutely killed the transfer market outside of the Sky 6. Just like intended.
-
How do you know what he has his heart set on?
-
I'm a big fan but can't see why Brighton (of all clubs) would sell below 60-65mil. Not sure how we can afford such amounts for him and Elanga, on top of bringing in a CB and a GK.
-
Chelsea did want him last summer but pissed about with the fee and lost him I think. So wouldn’t surprise me if they were back in for him.
-
It's clearly sensationalist bollocks and in hindsight it's absolutely laughable to suggest they didn't have a clue what they were doing.
-
Gordon will have his best season yet next year. He’s had international duty past two summers, he will have a proper break now. By October people will be raving about him. CL will mean plenty of starts for him and Barnes
-
Spurs be wasting time for Mbuemo, guy has his heart on Man Utd. Probably just making a play because they’re negotiating for Frank at same time.
-
At anything over 40m they'd be doing us a favour tbh.
-
Yeah I could see that, probably with some add ons if we meet some team targets going forward.
