  2. Feels like he was 29 about 5 years ago though. Used to love him at City but he does give the impression his best years are behind him though. Moving to Galatasary just seems to rubber stamp it.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Not a lot tbf, but for me the goalkeeper is the least part of our problem. It is annoying though seeing clickbait social media videos titled "Newcastle swoop for two stars!" only to come here and see it's all bullshit.
  4. It was a risky move, and Monchi's style. Now those loan players are returning, and you'll have to sell players to meet the Financial Fair Play rules. That might weaken the squad. In PSR, it's all about the long game, not quick wins; steady growth, not rushing things. Unless you have revenue at least 75% of the sky six, gambles are a no no. I include loans in this too.
  5. everyone says the club lost all structure and momentum when they got rid of him. can we hire Maldini as our sporting director?

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

Id have no issue with Grealish at Newcastle if he was the ace off the bench or played in special circumstances and needs. I’d love to see the fella get back to being an incredible footballer again (see Villa days) as his stuff he does in the community and how is with fans is really heart warming stuff. on to the football, he is one of a few footballers who can drag 2-3 defenders his way with how he retains possession and holds the ball, creating space and opportunities for others. I’d like to think what he learned at City coupled with new life under Eddie Howe would be pretty fascinating to see on the pitch. However, don’t see this deal happening anyway.

Depends how you look at it I suppose. You’re quite right in what you say - but - if we look at what Villa did last season, they significantly strengthened themselves for the second half of the season, without the massive outlay it would have cost to do that permanently. Ultimately it failed as they didn’t make CL, but it was a reasonably calculated risk, that almost got them back to the CL riches. I prefer our/Eddie’s way though. In a world of everything revolving around transitional and periodic financial strength, it’s (almost) wholesome to buy a player and watch him gradually improve with the team (even if you did pay millions for him in the first place).
  9. The only 'loans' I think we will do are ones like Hall - where you want the player permanently but sign the year later for accounting purposes. I actually think signing Trafford this way wouldn't be a bad idea - £5m now and £30m next summer. They can have the Greek too.
  10. Villa tried that gamble, didn't work out ended up costing them a fortune. plus let's take a step into reality, who should we loan? Who will push us over the line?
  11. It can help us get a squad that can compete in the CL and requalify for the CL without a long term commitment. Not qualifying for the CL is a worse option for me come than a £5-10m cost of a loan that might make the difference.
  12. If this is the case then surely it would help any application for building. Especially if the plans involve (which they should) refreshing and creating new green space. The thing I really notice about Newcastle is how little green space is really accessible in the city centre. Less than most parts of London I would say.

I’m sure someone can dig out that exact phrase on the sad cunts message board and the hyperlinks from it to the petition. Similar from Twitter accounts. Unlike that Dotty shitbag and her Sunderland sourced signatures from 1995, there’s a whole audit trail of people with shite agendas tracing straight back to them.
  14. Loans are terrible for PSR. You pay a fee and you pay wages and you do not gain an asset.
  15. Yep - it’s not about their personal ethics, it’s about not fucking off their teammates. Plenty of our squad might well be dickheads. Trippier is the perfect example - seems to be a dressing-room leader, but also seems to have been a bit of a cunt away from it

It would take a fairly significant change in mentality from Eddie. I know the financial arguments that would be put forward for it, but as adaptable as Eddie has been to certain situations, the ability to develop players and reap the rewards from that, feels like one of his key principles. Can’t see him changing that.
  17. I think with PSR this might change.

Yep, I agree. I think if the club establish a way of meaningfully looking after the city parks it could be a win-win. Job creation, better parks, less pressure on the council. Alongside creating new green space, wherever possible.
  20. Harms their cause if anything. It just shows that they're going to protest against it regardless, rather than waiting to see what the proposal is, assessing the potential impact and challenging it accordingly.

Fuck it, build an absolute monolith right next to the bungalow of light since they want to protect our green spaces. Plenty fucking wasteland around there, including their flat pack shithole.

  23. I'm a massive advocate for green spaces being retained/created in city centres. But the simple fact is that to get this passed, it would be an exchange as we've already talked at length about. The greenspace and subsequent maintenance would be down to the club to present to the council to get the agreement to build. The new park would take some time to establish - trees/hedgerows, but lets not kid the financial element of having a bigger stadium and more revenue into the city, let alone the revamped, nicer greenspace than Leazes currently is. Entirely daft protesting to the council about something which hasn't been announced, and public surveys, which require no real vetting or quantification, are a moot point. They also require a significant amount of signatures for anyone to even think about caring, not some mackems and a few people pissing their pants.

Change petitions never do anything in anyway.
