I think it’s pretty much a given that they will attempt a more pragmatic style than that of Southampton, but if they do start losing week in week out while trying to counter teams my god will that place will turn toxic fast I think they are as good a bet as any to be relegated but it won’t be a record low or anything close to it imo. That squad just isn’t equipped and they can’t spend enough to fix it.
-
Only Villa need to sell though.
-
I'm not too keen on the former, Dibling would be an excellent "project" signing though.
-
Would assume his price will be massive, considering Brentford don’t need the money. Especially once Mbeumo goes.
-
Would cost daft money unfortunately with how long he has on his contract and the fact they're already getting big money for Mbeumo. 50-60 million easily.
-
Wonder if Parish will be as awkward as he was last summer or with it being Liverpool will he be bending over and taking it from the cartel Was nee great loss in the end for us anyway as we won a cup and qualified for the Champions League and we'd not have done much better even if we spent 60m plus on Guehi. Obviously we need a CB for next season tho

“Howe said: ‘I’ve made it clear last year that there’s almost two transfer windows now. The PSR deadline plays a huge role for clubs – both those clubs with PSR issues and those without, because those without may potentially look to try to sign players. They will look to take advantage of other clubs, as clubs did to us last year, quite rightly.” “‘It’s a really interesting dynamic, and one that we’re really aware of and that we’ll try to use to our advantage if we can. I can’t go into the details of that, but no doubt we’ve got people at the club who are working very hard behind the scenes on it.’”
-
Harwood-Bellis and Dibling double swoop imho.
-
Going back to interest in CBs, I wonder if Nathan Collins is an option. He'd be class.
-
He isnt, I promise you, 100% its not this summer
-
We’ll never be able to give Isak the wages he’d get at Liverpool etc so ultimately PSR will force it eventually
-
I reckon we’ll see some major activity from 28th June, essentially up to the PSR deadline where clubs don’t have room to hold out for big fees.
-
Yeah, you don’t get it. PSR and the outright unfairness of the system would be the last straw. As you point out we had Ashley stopping us compete and then we get in a position where we can and PSR stops us compete. That’s the last straw
-
Never known a transfer saga drag on to the point where it's made me slightly dislike the player like. Proper pig sick of everything to do with this
-
Hiring a new Director of Football who Ornstein is claiming we looked at to replace Mitchell (press X to doubt).
-
We may have to sell just for the betterment of people's wellbeing. Not sure this fan base can handle having this calibre of player.
-
I mean, we offered loads of money for Guehi already and couldn't get him in January. I'm not sure it's about speed, is it?
-
I hope we are putting a higher bid in, with no intention of winning, just to push the price up.
-
Isak is the jewel in the crown, the golden goose, the poster boy. The owners will do everything they possibly can to keep him. Just him being here adds value, brings eyes and makes us more attractive to players and sponsors.
-
Pretty comfortable missing out on Guehi. He's good, but don't feel he was one we had to do everything to land.
-
Fair, I'd be surprised if we're leaving in that late like.
-
@The Prophet I’d consider later being during August before the season kicks off.
-
Paul Joyce, the Liverpool mouthpiece pretty much putting their chances to bed. Genuinely not concerned about losing him this summer.
