Omishen (assuming he didn't play for Napoli before going on loan). Probably the only shot we'd have at getting him

Didn't he get a small knock/tweak just before the league game v Chelsea? On te bench as a last resort, although that's not very Howe in approach I concede -
Any defender who can pass a football always ends up with calls to hoy them into midfield. Almost like you just need to pass a ball to be a midfielder. Bet it wouldn’t take long to search for similar calls for Schär, Mbemba, Alexander-Arnold, Stones etc.

From my point of view it just cements more that Howe is a motivator rather than immense tactician. It’s no surprises our best performances this season have been against the better teams, particularly at home. Backs to the walls mentality. Worked a treat when he first came in, all the way to the CL. But put us in a game we are favourites where we expect to do well and we often don’t. Started to happen towards the end of the 4th place season, we started games as favourites and stuttered at times, carried on into last season and this. Obviously not an exact science and there are anomalies along the way, that’s sport. I think he’s tried to transform us to a more possession based team to ensure we have other ways of playing but that loses the above mentality and puts pressure on rather than taking it off. More pressure, more misplaced passes, more mistakes. Similar at Bournemouth, multiple promotions as the underdog and it all fell apart when they were more established and went into games expecting to do well. High press, counter attacking at pace will see us do well. We must find a solution when we face ogre teams like Everton though, or every good result will be cancelled out by a bad.

Guess he’d have come on if we needed a goal. -
Get rid, past it. Oh wait, this isn't FM.

Was Barnes on the bench Vs Chelsea? Seemed odd he got no minutes. Might be a message from Eddie as he was really poor in the reverse Chelsea fixture. However that shouldn't undo alot of the good things Barnes has produced already this season.
-
...it seemed that we would lose the race. He's been a great player for the club, but time's not on Schär's side sadly.
-
I hope its a really controversial goal again and we beat them 1-0 for the tears and ultimately the schadenfreude.

It’s interesting that we’re now moving Gordon but not so we can play Barnes. -
I'm struggling to remember the last time this guy lets us down or had a noticeable bad game? Must be going back to the Bruce era no? Definition of a solid squad player who is reliable and always puts in a steady performance. However I think that might be underselling him, as he's had some really strong games for us in recent years.
-
Another player doing well. Quick! Lets find out where we can play him out of position!

If I remember rightly, there was only Paul Brayson in the reserves back then. Dalglish padded it out with Disco Des and Garry Brady. We must have let some talent leave the NE because of our shit youth setup over the years
-
I said a while ago, he will end up begin our TAA

Didn't Keegan scrap the reserves?

Baleba looks great!
-
Gyokores and play both him and Isak. Obviously not gonna happen. I'd love a player like Robert, but who could do the ugly side of the game. Also like that Baleba at Brighton
-
Yeah, very much captain material. Always thought that. He just has a tendency to berate sometimes.
