Hard pass on Grealish. Let him join the mackems.
-
ok then. merely playing devil's advocate!
-
I really hope we get this done. I can see him in our side in my head already, and what he’d offer as well as the advantages he would give our other players. Could change the whole dynamic. I genuinely think he would be a transformational signing for us, especially when I genuinely believe that he has a couple of levels to go. I can see him getting to those levels rather quickly too. The more I’ve thought about it the more convinced I’ve become.
-
If we can get him in on a relatively low wage that doesn't prevent us chasing our main targets, then fine. He'd be alright for a year in the squad.
-
13 appearances for Chelsea and left at 23 is not quite similar to Grealish who is nearly 30 and has over 200 appearances.
-
Should have Harald Schumacher'd the little druggie into the Atlantic.
-
He shouldn’t be punching away, it’s a simple claim, the back pass law didn’t exist in 1986. Maradona is almost a foot shorter than him. It’s dogshit goalkeeping.
-
Salah hardly moved in his peak years away from Chelsea tbf
-
What does Howe demand of a right winger that he can't do?
-
I wouldn't touch him with a barge pole. He's done a Philips and had lots of money and glory whilst his game's gone to rat shit. See also, but to a lesser extent, the boy Sterling I wouldn't play him instead of Joelinton, Gordon or Barnes on the left of a mid3 or front3 I wouldn't play him instead of Bruno or Tonali as a "playmaker" free role. So what's the point of him?
-
We also saw how well Howe rotated Isak and Wilson a couple of years back when we finished 4th.
-
Can you name a similar profile of a player, in their peak years, not getting game time at a top team who has moved on elsewhere to do well?
-
Grealish on loan is a no-brainer for me - he’s a very good footballer and will be well motivated with the World Cup next year!
-
Yep. If we get to UCL QFs minimum, you want Isak starting every European game. He probably can only start 75% of Prem games at best to manage that, and not having a good 2nd striker could be 12 points dropped. That’s difference from UCL qualification and finishing 8th. An outlay in a striker is worth that.
-
Staggered some people see having two competent forwards as having a first choice and a back up. We’ll play nigh on 60 games next season. We saw what happened to Isak in the last third of this season when he played every game. A second striker is a must.

Surely they speak to the council and give them their plans, location, etc before drawing it all up otherwise it's a waste of time?
-
Someone reasonably reputable (can't remember who) had said that they could have announced something like Man Utd did - they know what they want to build and where - but they want to speak to the council etc to make sure they will be able to do what they say they're going to do. Still, it's the regular pre-announcement announcements that are annoying. Stop setting deadlines if you can't meet them ffs.
-
Brescia, Piacenza, Pescara, Reggiana, etc Takes me back to watching it with granda on Channel 4 on a Saturday morning.
-
The much maligned Geordie Journos said the club was ready to announce something 3 weeks ago as well. That being said, they also said we'd sourced a new training ground
-
I’d been led to believe something was forthcoming. No idea for the delay. Not that I know anything really, just heard from a few people in the build sector that things would be public soon. Agree with people though, don’t speak about deadlines unless you stick to them.
-
No way can Shilton be blamed for the Maradona handball, like. People say he should have jumped, but he shouldn't have needed to. Without Maradona's hand it's just a simple punch away and he's getting it. He shouldn't have had to take into consideration that he might cheat.
-
If we sign him for 60m, he won’t be a back-up.
-
He’s not great; especially for what Howe would demand in a right-winger imo.
-
Id be up for loans with obligations we can trigger or not trigger depending on how the player does. I think Villa were correct to go for it in January, even if they came up just short. This is independent of my opinion on Rashford and Ascensio, the actual players they chose.
