  2. It’s the same at most clubs - their fans keep a very close eye on all news as well as having personal contacts. If you do it long enough you get a feel for what’s most likely true, what’s most likely bullshit and what’s most likely a party line being fed to somebody. I don’t generally have the foggiest idea what’s going on at any club bar Spurs, but I’d back myself to make a fair call on the likely truthiness of most “news” about us.
  3. Not now Villa are selling Bailey to Saudi Arabia I don’t think we will.
  4. I agree with some of your observations. Although I'll be excited if he signs. Who would be on your list of RW targets? I'm a big Gittens fan personally but I think he's better on the left.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

If the club want to spend the majority of our budget on Mbeumo, then I’m all in. No further debate. Personally, I think it’s a bad move. I just don’t trust him in a possession dominant team, as for me based on my eye test he isn’t that accomplished. He is more than handy in transition, and has overshot his xG for a while now. (Let’s not forget Darwin Nunez did similar pre Liverpool). He’s just another Harvey Barnes who has elite characteristics but not a complete game, who will have some amazing moments, but frustrate us too. There is clearly a love in with him amongst our fan base, so apologies to anyone who disagrees, it’s not personal, and debate is what makes the beautiful game so much fun. At £40m or so, it’s probably worth it for us, or if we sell a Gordon and get Mbeumo with a few £m to spare then I can also see some logic. The risk of a drop off, the ACON, and him being a double down on high press high intensity, just doesn’t do it for me. I firmly believe there are much more suitable players out there for significantly less. The main issue is we need to completely overhaul the squad, raising the floor and the ceiling (in certain positions) at the same time. It’s close to impossible to do what we need to do without more impeccable transfer business. What Eddie has done over nearly 4 seasons is a miracle. I have every faith he will continue to perform minor miracles and just hope he has enough of a squad to handle the assault on 4 competitions. To be a fly on the wall during our transfer meetings…
  7. Think he's an upgrade on little joe when it comes to football IQ, wouldn't say no
  8. I just hope noone comes in with a foolish offer on Garnacho and that they continue being stuck with Sancho/Rashford/Anthony etc. Losing Fernandes wont be positive for them in the short term, even if they get some money to invest.
  9. And yet he’s coming back to Europe at *checks notes* 23, having won the AFC CL, and a helluva lot wealthier than he would’ve been.
  10. There's only Murillo who has been a hit so far they've signed from that market
  11. Think they just need to have featured for a team in a certain calibre of league and the Brazil top league qualifies.
  12. Hmm. -Both the players and manager of Brentford have talked about the likehood of him leaving this summer. -Fits in perfectly in our squad. -Not alot of other teams in the PL that looks like likely suitors. He is both intelligent and down to earth, so that leaves Man Utd out. -Newcastle(along with Everton) are his favorite stadiums to go to.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I think hes referring to the PSR deadline, where we might be able to go shopping for a half price bargain, rather than going after a priority position.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

I would be surprised - RW is our priority
  15. As much as loads of posters have been desperate to push the narrative that Staveley got us into the shit, despite not really accepting that that “shit” has got us champions league twice and a cup and if we hadn’t spent so big there’s no chance we would have got those and people would have been complaining instead that we “didn’t push enough” in the market and “we’ve been left behind when we should have gone all out”, Staveley backed Howe massively on transfers. I wonder who’s his closest backer on transfers these days
  16. I think we’ll see Jacob Ramsey here before the end of June.
  17. Today
  18. I'm sure hope and edwards said he's our number 1 RW target
  19. It will be a huge loss for them and I’m looking forward to see how they waste the money on Ugarte and Zirkzee kind of signings.
  20. Has there been any indication that we are actually in for Mbuemo? Or is it just that it makes so much sense this rumour has grown legs?
  21. If we're in for him, we'll have been in for him for a while. Discussions will likely have taken place, we'll have asked them to keep us posted on developments should anyone come in for him while we're exploring other options. I reckon we'll know what the deal needs to look like, it's just a case of whether we value him at the price we've been told and if he wants to come.
  22. A CM that has the ability to break down teams that park the bus is something I drool after.

    NUFC Transfer Rumours

When talking about positions, the usual caveats apply, there's always a chance that one of our long time targets in another position becomes available, in which case we might move because we have to. Yes I'd be astonished if we don't sign a RW/CB but it may well be that we sign a quality CM first and then have to wait until we've shifted Willock/Longstaff before getting a CB, lets say. If the CM was someone in Tonalis category, it would be worth it.
  24. Longstaff currently packing his bags.
