Said in the match thread but it I was him I'd be annoyed. Outside of Isak he's our most dangerous attacker yet gets shifted to the right everytime Gordon starts or comes on. I wouldn't mind but Gordon has offered nothing recently. I get that maybe he's more defensive but when you're playing 5 at the back already and especially when you go a goal down, just give Barnes a run on the left where he might do some damage. Hopefully he starts back there next week. I'd keep Gordon in reserve as he normally loses his head against Everton.

Gordon is a good player. But I don’t think he’s an elite one. Doesn’t have enough technically in his locker. His best games require a level of mental focus he doesn’t seem capable of sustaining

I'll only be able to enjoy this if were at least 3 goals up. Will Declan my pants otherwise.

The Europeometer™ (2024/25) - NUFC Qualify for Conference League (at least)
Novocastrian replied to Rich's topic in Football
Ok so, if Man United beat Villa we qualify for CL, doesn’t matter about any of the other results. Not sure I want to risk getting beat off Everton though. -
Not a nonce btw
-
Aye, agree with this. He's had a couple this season when a head down fkn thump it approach would get better results.
-
His defensive work rate has dropped off massively, gives the ball away a lot and looks lacking in confidence. It seems to be a mental thing if you ask me.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season

in the league at least of course. Howe ran circles around the shithead in the symbolically most important away game to Arsenal. -

He probably tells them more of the same etc and the lads come out flat and timid anyway. -
Wouldn't mind Man Utd winning the EL so they at least go into the Villa game on a high. All of the above is an absolute stretch I admit.

What exactly did Rice say about us? I think he’s one of a very few who’s actually quite likeable. I think Miley did really well. I like his composure on the pitch. It could be very well needed against Everton. Quite content about the game overall.

Lots of players transform from one season to another, and then back again the season after. No point in selling really, can't see a big offer coming in from a top club now anyways.

Eddie Howe - Nominated for Manager of the Season
Pilko replied to InspectorCoarse's topic in Football
In some ways he was unlucky today after that amazing first half, in others I wonder what the fuck he says or does to them at half time for them to come out at a level so far below where they were 15 minutes previously yet again. We'll do it next week, he won't let us miss out. -
A sensible post from a neutral. 👏
-
He’s only played them twice. Both at Goodison.

Now he shows up

How many of them beat us away or on neutral ground? -
Playing shite and being shite are two different things. He does look like he's half arsing it at the moment, hoping it's just a fitness thing.

Really wish Bruno would put his fuckin laces through it instead of that girly side footed fairy scoop..

Someone has already said that Everton had their big day today. Next week should be a regulation home win. I'll go a comfortable 2-0.
-
You would think after winning a cup and all the success we have had that people would relax a bit and accept when we have a lackluster half without all Howe all of a sudden being shit and the team bottling it and all that. We have it in our hands. Beat Everton at home, we are in the Champions League. If we can't do that, we don't deserve it. We would have snapped someone's hand off to be in this position 5 months ago, let alone 5 years ago.

It’s even more baffling as Gordon is a better option on the right than Barnes.
