Target was a loan made permanent, pope was late June, Minteh wasn’t a first team signing and Kelly was a free transfer. the reality is we start making moves in July for whatever reason.
-
Yeah I know but I wanted/needed a CB i.e Woody or Albert as the wild card #27. Figured Schär is pretty much the modern Albert so went for Woody
-
I hope to fuck we're not signing Kühn. The guy is a one trick pony, weak as cats piss and has the heart of a mouse.
-
Howe can say what he likes but it’s far more likely things are being put in place to move early July after PSR enters a new cycle.
-
No, he went by Thomas Etherington during school then adopted the Ferry surname after if I recall correctly. He may well have gone by something else as well. His mam was dirty. He's from Shields/Tynemouth area if that rings a bell
-
There’s no stress at this moment in time for me as it’s very early days. Having said that, I still think we will be very slow at getting the players over the line. We will get some players in but I’d be surprised if we do it even close to something you can call “effectively” or similar.
-
Do we ever really sign players in June? Isak, Livramento, hall, Barnes & Tonali were all signed in July & August. Botman and Pope were signed in June but it was in last week of June
-
Yes please. Exact type of profile we need imo.
-
No significant signings in 3 windows Howes comments of acting quickly The lack of sporting director to negotiate these deals come end of June. Risk targets going elsewhere is sit and wait. Not panicking yet but disappointed if we can be active and aren't being (no way of knowing this).
-
Not to mention the strong links for some of the players we went on to sign in July. But more than anything...
-
100% - always had real needle to it. A couple of decades of them in the doldrums probably means young’uns haven’t experienced enough games against them - but it was always one of the standout fixtures

A rule preventing clubs from broadcasting their academy team games when they are played the same time as the first team has been scraped. It now makes it easier for clubs to broadcast their own academy team games. I wonder if NUFC will consider a major upgrade to NUFC TV with us showing more games such as the academy team, and such?
-
It’s in Chelsea’s / the sellers interests generally to say that they’re interested even if they’re not as it drives up the price for other competitors. Chelsea should receive a several year transfer window ban for crimes against football. Firstly, allowing a money launderer to launder enormous sums of money and use that to fund a football club. Secondly for totally destroying the loans system nationally and internationally. Thirdly, for being a fucking disgusting club
-
It was leaked that Pedro wants that London move so you can bet his agent is trying to flush some London interest
-
Put like that, the cheating scumbags seem like quite a good option. Not thought of it like that, and not sure what it says about the players.
-
That’s got to be wrong way around. Surely your tourists would pay more to watch the likes of Sunderland and Wolves in games that you might actually win?
-
Not sure why anyone is expecting any business to be done until close to July onwards.
-
Chelsea are going to allow their fans to sponsor a square foot of the pitch at £1m per piece to fund buying every player we've been scouting.
-
You could have Ferdinand and HBA - HBA wore 37 when he joined us on loan
-
I was thinking about the Chelsea thing and the amount of players they have the other night while watching that world club bollocks and if you think about it I can understand why players are going there. If you went to a normal club you would potentially play 40-50 games per season domesticly, in Europe another 10 say so 60 games a season and you are knackered come the world cup, euros etc but go to Chelsea, get rotated, play 2/3rds of the games, have a chance to win something, good long contracts and don't smash your body to bits as you will get down time due to the rotation, maybe the players aren't as daft as we think.
-
Brighton and Chelsea have been active. Surely they will have to make some sales to balance the books. I think we are waiting for prices to drop so that we can cover multiple positions.
-
Unsurprising to see him linked elsewhere
