I agree with people saying players have off days, we don’t have another CM we can rotate in for him and that he plays too much football. Meaning he looks a bit jaded at times. I love Bruno and what he brings. But I also don’t see anything wrong with pointing out how exposed he was yesterday and that it highlights his physical limitations. In a game like that against such a quick, direct and incisive passing team. It isn’t a shock that he got a bit found out. Especially when the tactics were off and other players were getting pulled all over the pitch too. The gaps between players were too big and that just isn’t his game. He just isn’t fast enough and I felt he was either bypassed or players were happy to invite him in to make a needless foul. Tactics didn’t suit us or him. But he was his own worst enemy with his complete head loss and it’s not a new thing.

Unless we sell someone, wouldn’t rule a big sale out.

https://www.transfermarkt.co.uk/statistik/endendevertraege A few good pickups from here would help.

He’ll either come good under exceptional coaching and a slow methodical process of bedding him into the side, or he won’t and he’ll be moved on I’m happy to trust that our backroom staff know what they’re doing with him to give the best chance of success

We really need City to win on Tuesday. Villa winning would be a disaster as can see them getting at least another 10 points after that game with the fixtures they have .

I've been a Mbeumo fanboy for years but our bench basically told us a lot yesterday. A cb, a rb, a goal keeper, a right winger, a midfielder Realistically we're not getting all of that if we splash £60m on Mbeumo
-
I think Mbuemo at the prices mentioned is a no brainer. Hope we have enough funds to get a few starters and to flesh out the squad. We had nothing to change the game yesterday. Hopefully Mitchell can find some Brighton like gems.
-
yeah this. I think this is the first team to properly exploit the space Trippier leaves when he pushes forward - since he came back regular again.

Best case at 5pm next Saturday Us 62 City 61 Villa 57 Forest 57 Chelsea 54 or 57 (I'd take them beating Everton in the early ko next Saturday if they lose to Fulham today.
-
Fully expect Fulham and Tottenham to get at least something today / tomorrow
-
McGinn running at Trippier forcing Schar out of position to cover him was good tactics. Not mad at the result, we were 2nd best from kick off.
-
Bad day at the office against the much better side on the day. But what we all know about this team is that they always come back
-
Will be surprised if Chelsea win today, has a draw written all over it. Can see Forest winning against Spurs, but fingers crossed they don’t!
-
Worst case scenario before we next kick a ball Forest 60 Chelsea 60 Villa 60 Us 59 City 58 Happy Easter

Sven Botman: could return vs Ipswich (Tindall)
ExiledGeordie replied to The Prophet's topic in Football
Ideally Sven back and a physical and fast right CB in the mould of Tapsoba of Leverkeusen. Watkins showed up the limitations of our CBs yesterday. -
Honestly mate considering we've managed to win a trophy which some people who have supported the club longer than my dad's been alive haven't experienced.. We are on the cusp of getting top 4 with a team that still has players from the Ashley era yet you pick on a signing that in the grand scheme of things is absolutely miniscule is incredible. But still more power to you, must be mentally draining to just wake up and find anything to beat the horse with after a defeat or whatever.

Villa also HAD to win and they played like that. I had a feeling we might come unstuck at some point and to be honest given the distinct lack of options beyond the starting 11 I think this team has done phenomenally this season really.

Well one argument for someone like Mbuemo or a “similar” hybrid forward is he can play through the middle as well as RW. This is where i hope Mitchel comes into his own this summer identifying some really good affordable targets to go with one or two purples.
-
This! He was really young and had never been a first 11 player consistently. The move there has to be a year at the club playing regularly for the under 21s to evaluate his level, and then make a call on the appropriate level of club for him to go on loan to.
-
Nah, not on the wind up. I watched a few vids on him when we were first linked, then decided to watch some full games, and he's a brilliant player. Physically, has it all. He's hard working, a fantastic dribbler, very good finisher and technically brilliant - rarely loses the ball cheaply, but the thing that impresses me the most is his vision. He's one of those players who sees things others don't. Almost Özil-esque with some of his passing. There's a reason the 3 richest clubs in the world are after him.

I've been pretty down on Osula right the way through our purple patch of wins?

The way it is approached is the issue. There were people saying that we should spend this summer's budget on two or three 'purples' and we'd be competing for the league. We need to spread that money out for at least 5 players, and there has to be a good level of versatility with at least two of those players. The squad has been neglected for over a year now, and some current members of the squad are now aged out and most are there as just bodies, as they can't really contribute in an impactful way.
