Park Seung-soo: NUFC “progressing” with deal (Douglas)

Another inverted left winger/forward. Probably long term Barnes replacement. To be honest - these deals are way more attractive than 60m on average premier league players. -

Like the vast majority of the forum I'm an avid watcher of the Korean second division. Not sure on this one. -
Think this one is going to happen

The Athletic have started doing 30-60 clips on Instagram etc. where some dork talks tactics or goes into detail about player X signing for club Z. Incredibly annoying and everyone of them extremely punchable.
-
Followed Ederson for a long time, scouting a player for a number of seasons is usually making sure you get it spot on.
-
Far from it. The bloke is borderline genius. Look at the traction and interaction that tweet is getting. As the kids would say, ‘it’s doing bare numbers’. And numbers translate into cash. All for a completely made up tweet that he probably put together whilst lying in bed. Much like the YouTube clowns like Goldbridge, we can mock them all we want, but they know what they’re doing.

Think there should be a definite limit on youth players. And I think 35 senior players is too many. Need to lower it so clubs can’t buy players just to loan them out. Talent should be spread throughout leagues, not a disproportionate amount of registrations held by a select few clubs.

We have, we just can't spend it on buying players.

Anthony Elanga: NUFC have bid of £45m rejected (Ornstein)
GeordieDazzler replied to SUPERTOON's topic in Football
We seem to have quite a close relationship with Forest and with Wood and Anderson they’ve absolutely got value for money out of us. Feel like we will know if they are open to selling before we’ve made this bid. All feels quite performative. We’ll have to pay a handsome price but if they are set on him as the right guy I’m happy with it. -
Whoever runs that account wants fucking sectioning. Completely unhinged.

Hearing 150k a week Newcastle highest earner, I thought Guimarães earned 150k, and Joe recently negotiated close to that.

Anthony Elanga: NUFC have bid of £45m rejected (Ornstein)

The Lyon deals are bogus. Forest got burnt with FFP the year prior. Like everyone else they've learnt their lesson. They won't be scrambling around last minute to sell one of their best players on the cheap to make it work. I would be shocked if that's the case. £20m for Vlad was a masterstroke. Anderson for what is essentially £15m - looked a solid deal then and it's amazing business now. -
It's kind of like Brewster's Millions. We're loaded, just can't spend it as we'd want.

Those Lyon sales are definitely a bit suspect. Forest then buying a number of players from Botofogo who have the same owners. -
hope this transfer happens

Most things reported widely have an element of truth imo. I think we've had interest in all of the players we've been consistently linked too. The Elanga links have persisted because the interest has persisted. Other players we like - we'll probably never bid for them. I think the preference for PL experience is probably true but we also seem to hold interest in foreign players too. Even when something is wrong - Barella for example - the fire was that we were in Milan to sign an international Italian midfielder highly-rated, it was the wrong player but there was an element of truth to the rumour. Isak was mentioned numerous times before it got concrete. -
Personally I think most stuff in the media is made up rubbish, designed to sell papers and get clicks. Some people cherry pick the bits that already suit a narrative in their heads.
-
Oh no, for sure we are cut off a different cloth, a slow one.

We've not done it or look like we will. We've not even loaned a PIF-owned player. -
What effort does selling a women's team take? Or an academy player swap? Very little imo, any selling of assets to oneself is extremely easy. That being said, back to the topic at hand. I'm really curious where we go from here, I do expect another offer to be made, it's a shame we can interest forest in say Willock to bring out outlay down and use some resources in central midfield.

They've rarely been crazily wrong. I refused to believe the early reports last season. The Chelsea hacks require a lot of effort mind. Like our Owners could sell SJP to themselves 30% at a time. Doesn't sound like that's a plan to do anything like that. - Today

I meant that summers transfer window, not the season itself which I agree was terrible. For me personally after the terrible seasons of 2012/13, 2013/14 and 2014/15, where Ben Arfa was let go, where Kinnear had been and gone, where there had been chaos with Carver and just general negative feeling, that summer I felt ooh maybe the near miss of relegation the previous season has changed the ethos of Ashley (more fool me) and finally he actually is trying to bolt the horse onto the cart or whatever his stupid saying was
