Looking at that heat map on a previous page, he's actually a good Joelinton replacement for when you're trying to break down teams that sit back. Which we've struggled to do. He's occupied the same space in attack. You get better quality on the ball, better link up play between him, Gordon and Isak and sacrifice the defensive side of Joelinton for when it's not needed. Much better goal threat too.
-
But we've been in for him previously? Nearly signed him. So we obviously have a plan to play with him in the side?
-
Really want this one to happen, really think he’s exactly what we need.
-
Van Hecksing might be the one at fault then. Having said that Joao Pedro was also a few centimetres away from an elbow worse than Ben Thatcher's.
-
He has changed to some games or because of injuries. His go to plan is 4-3-3. If he buys players that suit totally different formation, that changes all the pressing and defending and everything. I don't see the point in buying Pedro unless it is that we are trying to take advantage of his situation in Brighton and him wanting out.
-
Saw some Brighton fans say up until whatever happened the other week he was fine. Watford fans seem to think very highly of his professionalism/workrate too.
-
They are I don't want to lose either. I think Hall has a higher ceiling though. I'm just saying Tino has looked better at left back which is odd. His contributions in the final third are alot lower. If we were to lose one it would have to be Tino.
-
We do so many background checks, not worried about any new signings regarding character.
-
We have to sell our purples sometime, the key is to sell the right purple at the right time. id be happy to get a good price and sell him if it meant a significant growth in squad reinvestment. prefer to lose Gordon, but would rather keep Tonali, Bruno, Isak
-
Maybe Bruno has put in a good word? Will obviously know him.
-
That's the one I can't get my head around. He does seem like a bit of a dickhead.
-
I was going to say they will be England's full backs for the next 10 years, however that dopey Jarman probably wants Winterburn and Dixon back
-
I'm assuming he's based it on Pep being a big fan. There must be some leak from their end.
-
You could even say he's closer to 23 than 22...
-
Nobody knows that 100% it’s a moving target. You get over €40m for getting into the CL QF alone in prize money for example. Crashing out early and having a bad campaign will have a material impact on PSR - as will league finishes prize money. And then the rules are likely to change next season for uefa and the pl. All suggestions for this summer indicate we can have a meaningful spending spree. But our overall PSR approach isn’t entirely clear. — Back to JP. Brighton fans think he’s a sulky player. Bemoan his body language. Obvious elbow incidents. Seem to think Rutter and Welbeck have a better partnership and JP has main man syndrome. They big up his work rate and dribbling ability and penalty taking. Surprisingly little in the thread I read is about his ability. He’s seemingly Been angling for a move from last summer.
-
He's been saying the same thing for around a fortnight.
-
100m for any of the cartel this lad. Wouldn't sell though because the lad is class.
-
He's actually only 22.
-
I mean that's quite a short sighted view. He's changed systems within the 433 a few times. He's changed loads since he arrived here. And he likely won't drop Joelinton, no. Unless we get a new starting CM, which I doubt we will this window as there are other glaring priorities. Theres not a CM on our bench that should displace him either. He's also just won a cup and got CL football playing the system he has, so I'm not sure there's much need to change it.
-
There's nothing really wrong with it tbh. Tino is sensational, it's not a surprise if Pep wants him. City might well have put the feelers out to see if we could be tempted to do a deal, because let's face it, everyone has a price, you just have to go to eye-watering levels if you want to sway a club who don't want to sell. Romano's said we won't budge on a price, and if it's around £100m then it's effectively telling them to fuck off and stop wasting our time.
-
Just a reminder that we bought Tino off relegated Southampton. After a season in which he pretty much was out all year with a cruciate ligament injury. We paid around £40 million. He has since overcome that injury. Established himself in our first team. And has featured for England, and continues to push for more caps. He's only 23 years old. Asking £80 million is the absolute minimum we should even consider, which in my opinion is still not enough. They have got a nerve thinking they can get him for less. As you can probably tell, this whole thing really annoys me.
