  1. Its not necessarily the scouts who will find the players. Its all about what the manager asks them to look for in a player. Obviously some scouts are better than others. But Im pretty sure Big Sam will have drilled as much detail as possible regarding what he's looking for. I'm not particularly worried....as long as the system works
  2. Maybe he's buying out his own contract under the new rulings should Arsenal not strike a deal with Barca?
  3. Thing is I agree with you there....but is it really him? or is it that Willie cunt playing dirty games? That concerns me more than anything with the Barton deal. Fantastic player, and City are unlucky he come out with his immature disrespectful bouts whilst on your books...but you always wonder how much influence an agent can have on any player
  4. Spot on. Cant think of any more direct wingers than those two. Giuly would definitely have done well in the premiership in his prime. Dont know if 30 is prime age for winger, but then you look at Giggs... For a relatively low transfer fee I would have him here in a shot
  5. Does anyone think the contract on offer might have some clauses in it regarding his behavior? As in for example should a repeat of the Dabo incident take place the player is sacked immediately etc..? What could the advantages and disadvantages of such clause be from the club's point of view?
  6. Agreed. HTT...watch them standards mate...
  7. Absolutely hilarious, more hilarious than Scholes to Sunderland and more unbelievable. The fact it's half empty for UEFA Cup games is because the UEFA Cup is s***, most of the games are like playing League One sides, and we've played over 80 games in Europe in the last 10 years. s**** like West Ham and Spurs haven't even played 20. "And we are going to a 60,000 stadium " and.......... This is a club who have averaged over 30,000 TWICE in their history, opposed to a club who have set world record average gates, and in the last 7 seasons alone have never been lower than the 11th best supported club in the world, as far as average gates on concerned. You really couldn't make that up. I won't go on about attendances, but that great promotion season of 92/93, West Ham had a really good season too, they were only 8 points worse off than ourselves, their average gate? 15,000 I rest my case cor blimey, jellied pie, nice gaff, apples and pears cockney wanks. The biggest and most accurate insult I can bestow on them is they're a very very poor mans Tottenham, and truly that is an insult. If you asked your average foreigner who Newcastle United are and I've seen this first hand in countries like Thailand, "yay Newcastle Araan Sheela!" if you asked them who West Ham were they'd think you were on about a part of a pig. Deluded cockney c***s. Hand on heart I wouldn't put them in the top 15 clubs in this country, I don't think many would. That was spectacular. You just made my afternoon. And mine!!! You should be on the vodka more often Steve!
  8. I think SA already has enough to worry about in terms of bringing ppl in. If he can worry a bit less by sorting out one of our problem positions from within, then he will go for that. Means less headache, and less money spent, and putting to good use one of the most talented players at the club. Really hope this works, as it would be ingenius. I've always thought personally that fullback is the most important position tactically on the field of play. Dyer is a clever footballer who shouldnt have a problem adapting to the role.
  9. Exactly the point!!! Im glad we finally have a manager who will try things to get the best out of ppl rather than conform to opinions and ideas of those around him, as well as the media etc.. Sam Allardyce deffo has big balls....and will prove it at NUFC. Whether that works out for us or not is not the issue. The important thing for me that someone has finally come in to try something different at this club. Dyer at RB isnt even that outrageous an idea. As has been said, he has the stamina and pace to keep up with anyone. Sam's big challenge will be to instill the discipline in him to make sure he's bothered about defending for the 90 should we need him to. Otherwise we will have some attacking threat down that right flank at long last. And now for Baines..
  10. this club needs a good shake up from top to bottom and it should have been a long time ago ,if we sit still we die . No ur absolutely right. I wouldnt mind having Dein come in with Ashley, as long as we keep Big Sam is what Im trying to say. Having said that, I would rather Dein did not come in if that meant removing Allardyce and installing anyone else. I really believe Big Sam's appointment will prove even more historic for this club than any appointment of a Wenger or Scolari. Not even sure on the Ashley issue should he not see that Big Sam is the way forward.
  11. Would rather have Big Sam and look to the future with him than have someone like Dein come in and start another shake-up. Not needed imo.
  12. You might want to ask this question again come September 1st. Only then could people have a more constructive opinion on where we'll finish. Being optimistic....I would be satisfied with finishing in the top half and giving our all in the cups. Of course if we spend 50 million this summer signing some top brass then my expectations would obviously be set a lot higher
  13. Must agree with UM big time. Massively overrated and I'm ecstatic we're no longer burdened with having to play "an England international". Must admit...that tackle on Joe Cole was legend Good luck SP...and thanks for whatever it was you thought you did for the club.
  14. Fucking love this appointment....but on one condition, and that is that Big Sam gets full control of the dressing down that is needed at the club
  15. At least he looks professional and bothered pitchside. Sorry but Saunders, Boersma, TMac, etc.... never looked either of the above.
  16. Couple of million quid plus Luque would be good business IMO....assuming the story is true
  17. Looking forward to it, the sacking of Fred that is. Why do you want him sacked? Why do you think a replacement will be better? I look forward with interest to this information that will convince me it is guaranteed a new board is certain to choose a manager who will bring success to the club, and also the information that proves this new Board will support financially any new manager as much as the current Board has done for successive managers. Thanks in advance You know HTL....you are right with regards to the point that no one knows if a new board would be better... But tell me something, why do you personally think we're in this mess at the moment? And why in your opinion have we not moved fast enough to secure signings this window, given our state of injuries and especially that we didn't have a game for 10 days (until Villa), which at least would have given any new players at least a bit of gel-time with their teammates in training?
  18. Very good player....reminds me of Adebayor tbh... I also wouldn't mind Luigi Pieroni from Auxerre... Given the chance, this guy could turn into a goal machine.
  19. No one actually read the "trainer"'s name?? Fooke Booy!! cool shit!
  20. Thought we defended quite well after Ramage went off. Hunty and Edgar certainly look like a partnership, and covered very well for each other. Carr surprised me 2nd half as well. Wasn;t good, but just wasn't that shite. Slowed the pace down well when we needed to, but also did it when we needed to speed things up a little. Nicky Butt unlucky not to score on a couple of occasions. Excellent that we;re scoring from midfield these days...it's a good sign. Other than that, we should have beaten that load of shite who only had a decent midfield trio to even cause a threat: Coker, Benayoun and Quashie. The rest are a right shower. No. I don't want Anton Ferdinand here just yet. Not the type of defender we need right now. Bring in Curtis Davies who is a man mountain. We need some strength back there. Put a serious offer in for Baines and get it over with. 10M should have the pair in.
  21. Now that Fulham have got Montella, I'd go in with a bid for Brian McBride. Neither he nor Le Sib could handle playing every game, so I'd rotate them to play with Oba. Should be quite cheap and on a short-ish term contract
