Good young player with bags of potential for a good price. We had lots of holes in the squad of various sizes and positions and I think we've (eventually) got around to plugging quite a few of them. I think Elanga instantly improves the first XI, demoting Murphy to the bench strengthens it, adding Thiaw to the pool of CBs is a strong move, likewise Ramsey for the CMs and Ramsdale to the GKs. It's not been a dramatic improvement and the CF situation needs to be the last priority to sort out but they've bought themselves a few weeks to get that into better shape. Wissa needs to get done asap and the snake needs to be put in his place We've also moved a few players on who were unable to contribute anything to the squad last season for various reasons - Longstaff, Vlak, Wilson, Lewis, Hayden, Kelly etc. The squad is looking much better and consistent and I think we'll see the difference in the last 30 minutes of games this season. Too often the first XI were asked to go above and beyond because there was no decent options off the bench and it showed, Often we were hanging on towards the end of games but I'm hoping that'll be different this season. The window was looking like an absolute disaster just 2 weeks ago but it was always salvage-able and they're well on the way to doing it, 1 maybe 2 more to come in after Ramsey at CF with plenty of time left. It's been a solid window so far

Old school, get it in the mixer goal. Keeper pings it in, win the first header and finish it while it's ping-ponging about. Fair play

Fucking. Unit midds seal of approval. Can't beat a bit of height, power and pace in the team - him and Botman would steamroller most CFs

Another hole in the squad that's hopefully been plugged. If he can avoid injuries then he's the type of player who you could trust to come off the bench and use for the last 20 mins of games without worrying too much. Seems like his form has dipped a bit in the last couple of years but he looked excellent for a while. Fingers crossed he can get back in that groove again. Don't know loads about him as far as strengths and weaknesses but he'll get plenty of minutes I'd imagine

No idea how to feel about this tbh
-
Completely agree and I've said earlier today I'd be a twat and make him stay. I'm not suggesting that we give in and sell him on the cheap, quite the opposite tbh. I'm just saying that had he gone about things differently and actually been honest and upfront about things then it would have been easier to swallow and been more likely to be successful for him. Everything you've said I'm in agreement with, I don't think you've realised where I was coming from, I'd be as strong as fuck here and not give an inch either, as you say. But the other players wanting him out is big, their opinions carry far more weight than we assume, if they all want him gone then he'll probably go. I was just having a pop at his lack of backbone and cowardice tbh
-
I understand it gives him a way out but if he'd been honest then he would have almost certainly got his move and he wouldn't have needed a way out He's decided to go down this route and anything he says should the move not happen is irrelevant. He's now made himself a pariah, he's an outcast, his mates have washed their hands of him. There is no coming back from this, his actions this last 6 weeks have sealed the whole thing completely off. He can deny it all he wants, Newcastle fans and players aren't daft, they know exactly what he's deliberately engineered here. He's fucking toast here imo
-
Think it's also very telling that Isak himself hasn't actually said a single word (that I'm aware of) about the entire situation. He's feigned an injury, refused to play at Celtic, refused to go on tour, refused to rejoin the group and doesn't want to play for the club any longer but he's not even had the bollocks to say so himself. He's done it all through his agent, Romano, Ornstein and Jacobs. Not only is he a snidey cunt but he's a cowardly snidey cunt too. I'd at least have had a modicum of respect for him if he'd said something like "I've loved it here at Newcastle for 3 years but I want to move on and move to an even bigger club, I'll still play for Newcastle and do my best as I'm under contract but I'm looking to move on". It would have stung but at least he would have been honest about it. The way he's actually gone about things this last 6 weeks has been disgraceful, no the wonder every cunt now hates him, including his own mates. Snidey, gutless, two-faced, cowardly, little weasel-like cunt, he's a fucking snake
-
If the players want him gone then he'll probably be sold soon(ish), their wishes will carry some weight. Although it's telling that he's become so toxic that even his own mates don't even want to be around him let alone play football with him again. Seems like he's gone out of his way to deliberately piss off as many people associated with NUFC which is impressively cuntish, it's almost impressive to become such an arsehole so quickly. Still firmly in the 'let the cunt rot for a couple of seasons' camp but realistically I think we'll eventually cave at a really high price as we simply won't want to be seen to be losing face and letting him go on the cheap. I'm guessing about £140m+15m on deadline day
-
There just seems to be this widespread and unspoken rule throughout the media than any criticism of them, their club, their players or their fans is absolutely forbidden. Them and their arsehole fanbase are so sensitive to criticism and jump all over anyone that even dares to question their conduct that they're essentially untouchable and beyond reproach. They're also assisted by the dozens and dozens of ex players who are now the talking heads and pundits in the media. Seems like everyone has bought into the myth and they genuinely see themselves as this shining beacon of respectability and woebetide anyone who even suggests their halos are not perfectly aligned
-
They're absolutely desperate to be seen as these paragons of virtue aren't they? So respectful, such manners, much friendly, eternal charm... They're absolute cunts man
-
No idea if it would work but we may be in the position of starting the chain off ourselves by offering Brentford a couple of mill extra to get the Wissa deal done. They'll then be able to do similar for Bournemouth to get Ouattara who then pass it on and everyone gets the striker they want down the line. I just think it's getting to the stage where a couple of million to get it done in the next day or 2 is actually worth it. We're woefully short in that area of the park but Wissa coming in before Villa gives us way more options
-
So he's finally played his last card, publically refusing to play for us again, he's now got nothing left Club just needs to carry on trying to add to the squad, I don't even want us to acknowledge the cunt, just get more players in (Wissa in the next 24 hours would be handy like) and ignore him and his agent completely. Let him continue to train by himself, let the fans give him shit anywhere he goes, let other neutral fans know how much of an unprofessional cunt he is, delete one of his prime seasons from his career, allow his current teammates to lose all respect for him and most importantly of all - stick another 10% onto his price. Raise the bar and see what happens. He's forced the issue, we just need to hold firm and call his bluff
-
If he wants to highlight players being moved around like pieces of meat then that's fine - start looking across London and pointing the finger in Chelsea's direction, eh? Fuckers have been stockpiling players and using them as gambling chips to play/trade with for years now. They're the original footballing puppy-farm but he ignores them and points the finger at us instead? I'm sad he got hurt in a car crash but his opinions aren't worth a bucket of shit tbh. Cunt needs to open his eyes and identify the real issues
-
He does sound like the prefect squad/bench player to use now and develop further. If he's available and wants to come then just get it done asap, the money is there for exactly this type of signing/player, just try and wrap it up
-
Not sure about rewarding his behaviour this summer with an extra £40k a week mind, fuck that, sets a very dangerous precedent. In fact I'd be looking at bumping the likes of Tino, Bruno, Tonali & Hall as a reward for not being a cunt and having a little public tantrum to try and force their way out of the club. Isak can fuck clean off, he's hardly scraping by and extending his overdraft each month ffs. Nah, reward the professionals and let this cunt fucking stew for a couple of months. Had he gone about things differently this summer then I'd have had no qualms about bumping him up a little but not now, fuck him the snidey little cunt
-
Agreed. I'd take him if he was dirt cheap but he'd be nothing other than a stopgap really. Plus the AFCON thing would bite us in January, I'd just rather we avoided the whole thing and looked elsewhere tbh, he's not really impressed me at all
-
A £30-35m punt? Ok, that's acceptable I suppose A major £45m+ investment? Fuck no
-
Hopefully Sky, Talksport et al decide to rid the media of this utterly gormless fuck. Fuck all to contribute and obnoxious as fuck in the process. A cunt's cunt
-
I think it's that arrogance that annoys me the most - the whole 'We're Liverpool and we're bigger and better so it just has to happen, they have to sell him to us' all said with a completely straight face because they genuinely mean every word they're coming out with. They are that arrogant. Stamping their feet because they're not getting their own way, they're fucking scum man
