Allardyce and Sunderland are a good fit imo. The fans will respond to the ugly, gritty stuff they're about to get. Their heroes are Kevin Ball and John Kay ffs. As long as they get stuck in the fans will lap it up all day long.
  2. Scotland have the shotgun permanently aimed at their feet. That's ridiculous.
  3. He's far too good for them on every conceivable level. It's a disaster for football.

I used that van to move my stuff out of my old flat. Sure it was the same one? 100% I could tell you the pub it's parked outside there The Marlborough. I'm scared now Don't be. I hear it's much better since Bess took over...

Exactly this. They deserve each other.

Conceded 52 in 2015. The defence remains dreadful and prone to collapsing far too often imo. Been the same whether the manager has been Pardew, Carver or McClaren. None of them are good managers but that says it all about the mentality of the club. We're programmed to not compete. Despite what Ashley and his dickhead MD may say or think, you can't just turn that around overnight by spending a few quid for a change. This has been coming for years, and it's exactly what they deserve. Absolutely. I was just pointing out the fact that he's failed to organise a back four and we look no better for him taking over. Some managers walk into a club and can make them organised and disciplined within a few weeks, it happens loads. He walks into the club in June and we don't look any better and have the worst GD in the division. Yes the problems were there but he's failed to solve them.

Going to come under massive pressure now. Worst start to a season for decades, no wins, can't defend, collapse regularly, can't score more than once a game and he can't get them going. How long can you let it go on? He's new to the job and you want to give him a chance but how far adrift do you have to get before you bin him? It's still only 5 points and that's not insurmountable yet, especially with the run of fixtures coming up but he needs absolute bare minimum 4 points from the next 2 and even that means we'll still be in the relegation zone going into November. Had serious douts he was the right choing in the summer but was prepared to give him a shot. Not sure he can pull this round now, looking grim as fuck and he may as well hibernate if/when we lose the derby.

Getting another 37 points from the remaining 30 fixtures looks like a bit of a long shot at this moment. Can't defend and struggle to score... There may be 3 worse teams but I'd be surprised.
  11. Missed off the fact that Newcastle lost possession due to a poor touch the most in the PL. About 15 times a game iirc. edit: Losing the ball through poor touch (per game) Reims – 16.5 Frosinone – 16.3 Palermo – 15.7 St Etienne – 15.5 Lille – 15.1 Highest Premier League team: Newcastle United – 14.3
  12. Last red shown to an opposition player was when Remy clashed with Johnson at Norwich and the ref sent them both off, that was January 2014. The last time we had a man advantage was against Stoke on Boxing Day 2013 when they had 2 sent off. I make it 11 red cards to our lot since the last red to an opposition player. I stand corrected, it's 12: Mitrovic (Arsenal) Janmaat (Swansea) Janmaat (Leicester) Williamson (Leicester) Sissoko (Liverpool) Coloccini (Everton) Taylor (Chelsea) Sissoko (West Ham) Abeid (Palace, LC) Williamson (Villa) Shola (Liverpool) Dummett (Liverpool, later rescinded)
  13. Would have loved it if Krul had gone a bit further and claimed/punched it but the angle it came from and the runners who could have got a touch on it made it really difficult to defend imo. It was just a bit unfortunate that came when it did and cost us a couple of points. I'd have taken a draw before hand and had we come from 2 down to get a point then I'd have been absolutely delighted. It was what it was,an encouraging performances with plenty to still work on. Take the hit at City next weekend and push from there, nice run of fixtures on the horizon but we've got to capitalise on them. Our run to Xmas will define the rest of the season, got to pick it up and get after teams and look to score heavily.
  14. We've had a dreadful start to the season but we haven't really had a good hiding so far. This will change tomorrow, I'll think they'll do us about 0-4 without getting out of 2nd gear.
  15. Non-league is where it's at. Far more enjoyable, far cheaper and far more authentic and competitive in the true definition of the words. I'd laugh by bollocks off if the PL imploded.

If love to be a fly on the wall at the training ground over the next few days. Sounds like it's absolutely toxic.
  17. 'I thought we had enough possession and opportunities... created enough opportunities and chances to score'. Really? Doesn't sound like it. It's almost as if he knows the games wasn't televised and he can try to re-write history as most wouldn't have actually seen it.
  18. Fancy Chelsea tbh. They may be a little bit too much for us...

Honestly think it could all be moot once the window opens. We look awful and it could easily be done and dusted by then. 'Ones with character' aren't going to sign for 3 or 4 years for a club heading for the Championship, the damage is going to be done during Autumn as it stands.
