Wonder which way this tight VAR call goes? Oh look, it's gone Liverpool's way
-
We'll never know about yesterday tbh, pointless discussion? I genuinely hope there's a good player in there too but I've got my doubts on the evidence I've seen so far. I hope I'm wrong but there's nothing wrong with saying he's been deeply disappointing since he signed, I'm not even sure that's up for debate.
-
Ok, fair enough, he created that chance that didn't get converted.
-
I don't think he's done anything wrong as such, he's not done much of anything at all tbh. I've not watched every minute he's played but in all his appearances combined he's got no goals, no assists, 1 shot on target, 1 booking and 1 tantrum. He's just not performed or produced anything positive at all

I don't think anyone is sitting typing away hoping that Gordon continues to be shit. Everyone wants him to develop a bit, settle in and start to produce for the team and the club, no-one wants him to fail and he'll get time to turn it around. But the fact is he's created nothing when he's had minutes since he signed. People re rightly saying that maybe that big chink of money we shelled out in January could have been spent on a different player who would (almost certainly) have chipped in with a few goals and/or assists. I think that's fair enough tbh - he has been poor and denying it seems daft. No-one wants him to fail here but on first viewings he looks a bit short in many areas.

Barca 2 up and cruising to the title tonight

Agree but that would mean sitting back against them and hitting them on the counter. At home. In a huge match we really need to win if at all possible. Doing that would go against everything Howe has championed - 'intensity is our identity' would go out of the window. Not saying you're wrong but I can't see Howe changing the approach to the game. We'll press them and hope they don't/can't play through us as easily as Arsenal did. I think
-
He absolutely should do this. But turning down the Milan, Inter or Juve job in the next 12 months would be very very difficult to do, surely?

Brighton currently doing the team that did us last week. Not massively encouraging viewing I must admit

No card? Like no card at all??

Wolves did similar back in 1956 to Honved, they watered their pitch to make it "nice and heavy". Straight out of the fat Sam shithouse playbook

I think the most concerning thing was the lack of chances we created today. Robles barely had a save to make, think only the low Schar shot was all he had to do all game and that's disappointing. They made it difficult, dropped back and covered space but it worked for them. They'll be thinking 2 daft mistakes to concede 2 avoidable pens but pretty tight other than that. We never opened them up, got in behind them or hurt them all game. We might well look back on this point as the one that takes us over the line in 15 days time

Thing is you can bring Wilson on after 55 mins in virtually any situation winning comfortably? sub him on for Isak and rest his legs cagey as fuck? bring Wilson on and switch Isak into a 10 or LW to pose a different problem losing and needing a goal? bring Wilson on an go to 4231 with Isak wide or a conventional 442/4411 with 2 central CFs

Been really really disappointing so far from him. Apart from the smart 10 minute debut he's offered, produced and delivered zero. I can make allowances for the change in club and playing philosophy but he currently looks a shadow of the bang average player he was at Everton. Throw in the fact he's already had a strop at Brentford and it's beginning to look like a bit of a rick signing him rather than proven quality for the last 20 games of the season. Far from impressed with him

Think he needs to go back to the tried and tested 4-3-3 and bench Wilson. Get a bit of solidity in CM and bring Wilson on after 60. Got no problem with him giving Isak and Wilson a start, both were in great form before Arsenal and I can understand him doing it, I'd even support him doing it, hindsight is wonderful. But it's not really worked, 1 point from 6 isn't a great return and we've not played that well today. Leeds huffed and puffed but offered little but still scored 2. We looked better moving Isak central but he needs to start as a 9 from now on. Wilson off the bench if needed as a first sub but the experiment hasn't worked unfortunately.

Going into the game we needed 2 wins and a draw and if it turns out that the point today was the draw then so be it. Desperate for top 4 now and we have the perfect chance with 2 home games to wrap it up. If have to go to Chelsea needing a result then so be it. Nothing worth having comes easy and we've got 3 bites at the cherry now. Still pretty confident and glass is still firmly half full.

It's the inconsistencies between, referees, clubs and grounds that's doing my head in atm. Hooper started ok today letting the game flow and waving away soft/low contact tackles - which is fine by me. He kept his card in his pocket - again, fine but for the last 20 mins OF THE SAME GAME he's then giving slight contact fouls and handing out cards like it's going out of fashion. That fat cunt today couldn't even be consistent for 90 minutes. I'm not saying he was cheating or favouring Leeds but you just don't know what's going to happen from one minute to the next. His standards and interpretations dropped massively and for me that's the epitome of a shit, incompetent referee.

We're not playing well here and the tone and tempo of the game is suiting Leeds perfectly. Lots of fouls and it's become a series of set pieces. We now look much better since the change and moving Isak infield. We'll create more chances but we desperately need to convert one of them, not enough quality shots coming in.

Which match are we watching tonight then?

Suppose we can all look forward to the Champions League final on Wednesday night though
