Are the 'good' things Ashley's done by accident or design? We cut back our wage structure because we got catastrophically relegated and a load of players wanted to/had to leave. We're 'developing' talent because for large portions of Ashley's reign we haven't had anyone else to put on the field. We're 'developing' Ranger by giving him game time because we sold out best centre forward on deadline day and didn't bring in a replacement.

It's not just the Man United effect, it's the England player effect. When you've got a team full of wankers you don't want them sitting out 3 games in every 10 and you don't want to piss off their managers who are already annoyed at then getting worn out/injured on international duty so you let them get away with murder. Of course this means they get used to it and do stupid fucking things like clapping in the refs face on the international stage when the officials don't give a fuck if you're an England player or a Man U player.
-
But we could afford to buy players he didn't want or need as favours to their agents.

It's not like he's the fucking Queen, he can say whatever he wants. He was taken for a mug by Ashley and Lambias and so have all of us lot, repeatedly. I don't think anyone would laugh off the suggestion that the money won't be invested, afte the amount of times we've had our fingers burnt by sitting and pissing ourselves as various "media bullshit" or "internet bollocks" which has come to pass no matter how fucking stupid it sounded and no matter how much we were told explicitly by the club it wouldn't happen. Ashley's thick as pig shit and he tells enormous lies, of course people, including ex-employees and current players are going to have various pops at him, that's what happens when you're a twat. Maybe we should put some kind of China-style media block on people like Keegan to avoid offending people's sesnibilities when they see Dear Leader called into question by a pundit?
-
Not really surprising people find it hard to laugh off negative predictions after having their fingers burned on everything from ludicrous suggestions that there was trouble between Keegan and Ashley, that Wise was there against Keegan's wishes or that we wanted to sack Hughton and replace him with Pardew.
-
Although it will probably be somewhere inbetween, I'd say there's a much better chance of Keegan's "not a penny" prediction coming true than pardew's "every penny."
-
I'm glad he got off because he's my fantasy captain and he's on a double gameweek.
-
Might not be hanging around long anyway The high Greggs concentration in the area might seal the deal.
-
It's OK, it just means if we do an emergency recall of Danny, Wayne and Xisco at the end of the summer it'll be like having three new players.

Europe: would you take, er, 5th place right now?
BlueStar replied to kirkwdavis2001's topic in Football
Will be quite gutting for anyone who finishes 7th to have done so in the rare situation that a team that might be in the Championship next season have actually qualified through the cup spots which are usually a banker for one of the top 5. -
If you'd told me in three years ago that Stephen Carr could captain a side to a trophy in 2011...
-
And a blatant foul right in front of him, which he wasn't going to give until the bewildered linesman about three times the distance away raised his flag upon realising that Foy wasn't going to blow up for it.

I see from their comments on our Bolton match report that they've still got a huge "we wuz robbed" chip on their shoulder and we've joined Bolton and Stoke as team on their naughty list for not letting them do their Harlem Globetrotters act on us like good little minnows. Saying that, I guess we want Arsenal to win this one to maximise Europe places this year?
-
Looking at the front page of the print version this morning you'd think he'd gone on a Derrick Bird style massacre.
-
Sounds like it's just another part of his "demanding investment" angle. See what happens in the summer, sign the deal after we've actually shown some ambition.
-
Hypocritical to say the least. Thahats dah johke.
-
Oh yeah, I'd forgotten about this guy.
-
I remember Keane, in his autobiography before his his mackem days, moanign about even having to play them Would be funny for them to qualify for Europe and go across the continent being the "FC Whothefuck" that teams play in their opening rounds.
-
Would really like to do the double over Liverpool and/or qualify for Europe ahead of them and give him shit like "You should have stayed at a big club"
-
Never mind the Irish, what about Sunderland fans from fucking Sunderland? They get plenty when we visit, it's not as if they have to ship in an immigrant workforce to fill the stadium. We managed to get a fuckload against Sheff fucking Wed and it's not like we don't have pub telly, bussed in a load of Norwegians or we're all immortal.

Shay Given out for 3 months with a shoulder injury.

Would this not be Wigan's? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/8623214.stm Anyway, 5-0 against Man U for me, I reckon.

Adam's late and needless yellow means he now faces a two match ban. Not good news for Blackpool or my fantasy team.

Report him!
