Would we really be surprised?

Should have stuck with sunshine. I'm only saying there's no point in attaching value to anything said about this stuff. I should have, since you're talking shite. Nobody said anything is negotiated in the press. What's being suggested is that it might not really be a good idea to keep saying "We have £35m and we'll spend it all in the summer", its not just the fans of NUFC who read those comments. Dude. It literally doesn't matter who reads those comments. Clubs don't give a faint whiff of a damn about what Pardew may or may not blather on about (in regards to this clearly; individual players are another story). They know we've got 35m. Nothing else matters; they'll move the price based on that, not whether or not he says we are buying/we aren't buying,

Clubs don't negotiate through the press. They don't set prices based on something a manager does or doesn't say in an interview. Is what he's saying lies? Truth? It doesn't matter at all. The quotes are for us plebs. Real business gets taken care of behind closed doors.

I'm in Atlanta, if I'm not watching it at home - 1) Fados in Buckhead 2) Brewhouse in Little Five Both tend to show us if we're on at all. Never seen any other black and white out on matchday though, except seeing someone wearing Shearer 9 at Lenox Mall after a game once. He stopped in the Ed Hardy store and never came out so

Because Whelan hates Ashley and the idea of selling his one real hope of Premier League survival 10 minutes before the transfer wndow closed would be an utterly mental thing to do? That's sort of my point. Not every owner feels forced to sell just because other clubs start bidding for their best players. It wasn't "just bidding" though was it? It was stupid crazy money bidding. To use your example, Whelan would have sold if we'd offered 30m. That would have been N'Zogbias price. Every player has his price and that price can change from minute to minute or buyer to buyer.

Well, whatever happens, I will always love him.

Basically a modest improvement on Roeder, managerially speaking. More charismatic as well. We'll see how good his working relationship with the gruesome twosome really is in the summer.

Gosh how'd this fall to page 3?

unless bone is poking through flesh don't say shit like "barton fucked" or "barton dead" FFS, scares the shit out of me.

They're saying Boo-urns. Boo-urns.

Need to see "Birmingham City 0 - 2 Newcastle United - 15/02/11" sharpish

He didn't actually say that.

You might not rank them as the best all time but I don't see how Nesta + Maldini + Baresi could be controversial picks.
-
Not really, given that he usually wins a freekick when he does get taken down and he's 6th in the league for most fouls suffered - the names ahead of him in that list aren't the most illustrious though >_> He didn't try it too much vs Blackburn, I think he's tired of getting his ankles murdered every time he goes past someone.

If we can count decent as overall forward contribution and not just goals ... Bellamy?
-
Still very unsure what numbers + quality we'd get in if we're front loading 5 years worth of wages. We need a lot though. Guessing we'll continue to swoop for prospects from Ligue 1+La Liga. Do your magic, scouting team Voted 25-30 regardless.

If £10m went on strikers i would be more than happy, nevermind £30m Really? I'd be a bit disappointed tbh. It's imperative we upgrade the striking department if we're ever going to get back into a European challenge. There's no way the (majority of the) rest of the side aren't capable. I saw the football we played at times yesterday - it was sumptuous at various points, and not for the first time. We're three quality upgrades from being a seriously good outfit. CB, ST, ST, with the return of Hatem and there's every chance of a serious shot at sixth position next year. I just hope the mysterious second-season-syndrome doesn't settle in. I hope the guys in charge seriously do their research or it'll happen to us aswell. Instead of just a CB, I think we could honestly do with a Hughes-like player as cover for the back four. Not someone who'd have to be outstanding in every position but just a better option than playing others out of position. Worried to shit over what would happen if Enrique is out for any period of time.

Pardew just spouts shit about not selling out best forward then admits he was misleading us. Won't be the first or last time that will happen in football, no idea why everyone is acting so butthurt over it.

The Newcastle Late Disappointment machine is firing on all cylinders.

Jonas at least doing ... something. Not sure if that knock early on took it out of him but he's been lethargic for the first half.
