Wait wait, what players, bought under ashleys stewardship, are we selling for massive losses here? Xisco, which is an unknown quantity?

Stopped reading after "by Louise Taylor".

Anyone ever thought of rigging a turbine to one of these threads once it gets going? Energy crisis solved.

delusional ambition Probably right. I think he really does want 5 players in but has about 0 chance of that happening.

5 signings ... in january. Delusion or ... ambition?

His fucking LAWYER released the statement?

I think being complete sh*te is now categorized as a long-term injury. Could probably have Alan Smith declared legally dead in that case. -

It's not an unconditional yes, but I would if the cash+swap or cash period was used to improve us. I think the "drop" in quality between he and Harper isn't as catastrophic as some imagine.

We weren't good yesterday, that much is clear. Regardless of the opposition we would have had a tough time. Shay Given was just about the only one to come out with any kind of dignity and that's saying something when it's your goalkeeper and 5 got put past him. Guthrie maybe earned a 5. But. We aren't THAT bad. Liverpool can make good sides look average and they can make an average side playing badly look abysmal. And I think that's what happened yesterday. The result is acceptable because it's the natural outcome of those circumstances. I accept that an understrength Newcastle side playing poorly will get the beating of their life from the likes of a Liverpool side even when it's missing Keane and Torres. FFS Gerrard, Kuyt, Babel, Mascherano and Benyaoun are all pretty goddamn good. That's all. I don't condone shit performances but I refuse to crucify our players for a bad day out that looks ten times worse because they were playing the league leaders in good form.
-
Doesn't matter whose team it is. We're talking about effort by the players brought out by the manager. Whether it's Keegan or JFK coaching whoevers side I doubt either of them takes performances like that well.
-
So it's acceptable if it's someone elses side? So this is acceptable for JK because it's KK's side? Are you fucking retarded? Please stop posting.
-
Or Joe Kinnear tbh diffrence is, jk has managed to do it....but dont let the facts get in they way of your agenda. Seem to recall him being in charge for the 5-1 drubbing by Man Utd last year but don't let the facts get in the way of your agenda.

This. That old bit about actions speaking louder than words ...

Think the thing with Jonas is he's not got much of a right foot so he's a bit wasted in front of Beye but at the same time I don't see a good way to accommodate he and zog. 4-3-3 of with Jonas Owen Lua Lua (?) ahead of Zog - Guthrie - Barton?
-
Swear to fuck it seems like they put in twice the effort against us than they do anyone else. Wonder if Whelan is still sore at Ashley and throws up 20k bonuses as incentive.
-
fuck off wigan cannot fucking stand you
-
something wrong mate? I think it's Kinnear's half-time team talk.
-
I would hope the alternative is put Jonas back on the left and get a natural right sided player to complement him. He's good on the right but the left side is his more natural position. I wouldn't mind that scenario at all, provided quality was brought in obviously.

"unmitigated disaster we all fear"? What would qualify it as a disaster and who's saying it will be? The vibe I get is that most people accept it will be mediocre, probably 2 or 3 unknown squad players in from the championship or abroad and no one leaving. Although honestly there's one or two we could stand to lose, no matter what's said about squad size. -
Without access to the paper version I tried online http://www.lequipe.fr/sdx/lqr/search?p=&fr=cb-lequipe&q=N%27zogbia&sports=football&type=&sd=1&sm=12&sy=2008&ed=23&em=12&ey=2008&target=on Only article on N'zogbia they have for the last 23 days, and it's from the 19th, saying he shouldn't switch clubs. edit: fuck me, there it is. Slow this morning :\ http://www.lequipe.fr/Football/breves2008/20081223_075908_nzogbia-veut-quitter-newcastle.html

I see you've switched over to dashing hopes about Owen staying now that relegation seems a lot more unlikely.

Really not understanding this hostility at all.
