I'm pretty sure there's some deep analytics behind it. Kicking it long is basically a 50% chance of losing possession, potentially even higher depending on the players. No one notices it when you score from the possession you kept after playing it short but errors like Gabriel's are obviously really visible.

I think we need to see more of Bruno to be able to make that call. He absolutely dominated against Forest even from the deepest position but seemed to be a bit wasted against Brighton and Man City which were obviously very different kind of games to Forest. I have no idea tbh. One idea is to get a pure DM that allows us to have Bruno further up the pitch in tougher games and have Bruno as the deepest against easier teams.

There were lots of posts in yesterday's match thread about not wanting to risk our better players but everyone still wants us to take cups seriously. It has to be gene-related. I haven't been injured once despite training a lot on a high junior level when I was younger and been doing some kind of sports all my life. Warming up and stretching have been dismissed as unnecessary for 15 years now but nothing ever happens. Some mates have been doing the same sports as me for all our life and are injured all the time.

Dubravka is not more reliable than De Gea ffs. Wouldn't hold it against him if he wants it. He would get more games in Europa League and cups compared to us.
