  1. Why? Neither are top class. One never will be and one will need an awful lot of work to get there. Personally I'd love ot talk about our top class wide men but the only one we have with any history of being that is injured (even then it is mainly his history that has been top class). The two young lads (and they arent exactly bairns are they?) are good squad players. Zog could be decent. N'Zogbia's played about an hour on the left wing this season for a start.
  2. I usually go in there as well for the match, so I'll probably end up in there Saturday.
  3. I don't think anyone would argue that Allardyce should stay regardless of results or performances. Roeder's team had showed no progress since he took over, hell, it went backwards from the initial 2-0 win over Pompey, which is why he was rightly sacked (or resigned - whatever). If Allardyce's team shows an improvement in performance, or shows some sort of direction, then I'm willing to trust him and give him a couple of seasons. If, of course, the team's regressed and still direction-less like it was when he was appointed, then he's got to go in time. Using that reasoning, the fact that we are currently worse than the first 45 mins away at Bolton means that Allardyce deserves to be sacked. It wasn't only the result you idiot, it was the performance in that game, and the other games during that period. I can't believe you responded to what I wrote literally. I can.
  4. Surely people realise by now that what managers have won as bosses of the Old Firm means very little when we're talking about them coming to Premiership clubs? If winning small-time pots is all that matters as a manager, why don't we look in the Sunday leagues for our next manager, find the one with the most Shropshire Cup victories. Hyperbolic maybe, but Souness, Strachan, Smith are the types of blokes winning in this league. O'Neill I feel is better than the above, but he can't hold a candle to the top managers in the Premiership. Allardyce would walk the SPL and neither can he. A quick look at any of the squads that aren't Celtic or Rangers in the SPL tells its own story. Apart from Scots, they're generally made up of players who were either getting a game in League One and below or Premiership teams youth cast offs.
  5. Do we know why Beye didn't feature on Saturday?
  6. There's a possibility Kenwyne Jones could boss him about, though if we make sure Faye sticks to him then he should be able to handle him. As you say though, they're shit but if we give them possession and go 'backs to the wall' like we've done away from home so far, anything's possible. It's a sad state of affairs when we're worrying about two Championship no-marks up front, but if we keep giving them the ball and defending, we will have to worry about them. I'd rather McShane or Nosworthy or whoever the hell else he's found from Ireland/the Championship were worrying about Viduka/Martins/Owen than us bricking it about Michael bastard Chopra.
  7. Hartlepool are perfectly happy with their manager without him coming in blind, thanks very much.
  8. Getting beat at home in the derby in his first game. Not the best start.
  9. God I hope he picks himself up from this quick.

isn't viduka inviting the long ball? If he is then the manager is at fault. With the ball at his feet, Viduka is the most talented member of our squad by an absolute mile. He's not the one saying "lump it lads!".
  12. So you'd play Smith and play neither of Milner or Charlie? Are you having a laugh or what? Smith is garbage and the way he's fucking the wingers about is pure stupidity.

Absolutely woeful today. God help us if Viduka is not fit next weekend.

  15. The Partizan home game was the last one I missed at home, so probably the Chelsea semi. I fucking hate Gus Poyet.

  17. The players want a break, well there's a fucking surprise. The trouble with a winter break in this country is that the weather is notoriously changeable through January and February. If you shoehorn more games into February then even a handful get called off, you run the risk of a huge fixture pile up (especially if you're playing Middlesbrough, who will call games off up to three weeks beforehand in case you're coming from a far-away land like Newcastle). And there's no way they're taking Christmas football away from us in case they thought twice about that one. Managers are constantly moaning about fixture pile-ups anyway, that PFA bloke's been whinging today about Steven Gerrard having to play 6 games in 18 days, so how is taking two weeks out and putting those games in elsewhere supposed to help? I believe a few European leagues would actually like to abolish it, I know Beckenbauer wants it gone from Germany. One of the reasons we keep getting so many teams to the late stages of European competition is because we play through and can keep going and maintain form, while it can take European sides a while to get themselves going again after the break. I don't remember clubs whining about fatigue when three of them were in the Champions League semi final last season. It's just another excuse for the failure of the England team, a short sighted way to avoid the major issue of British coaching at grassroots level. We're probably not even going to qualify for the next tournament and that's got jack shit to do with not having a winter break. The players should shut the fuck up and get on with it. If they're not happy with their job and their million pound minimum salary, they can go and get a bar job.
  18. It is, I like the uniqueness of it. I've never once thought it doesn't look like it should while it's looked like that.
  19. Aye, it's strange he never posted it on here. At least I think he didn't, having had a quick check of his posts. The post from marko mentions him copying and pasting it from here so he probably did, probably among that load of posts we deleted ages ago... how ironic.
