Not only that, he is trying to use our money as hush money to shut Keegan up!!!!!

SBR happy clappers man, dont let them get to you. They only remember moments under SBR which were good and forget some of the shyte that was churned out. What a crock of shit. Robson had lost the discipline of the squad, hence the introduction of the cunt Souness. Dyer etc had almost got SBR the sack with their shite attitude. SBR really neded to sell Dyer the day he refused to play and the fact he didn't did as much to undermine his position as anything. But what has that to do with any criticism levelled at Keegan?

How about Our manager went into a job, genuinely and honestly hoping that the owners plan and vision for the future would work. But upon realisation that said owner and his fellow directors didnt actually have a clue what they were doing and had no real desire to make NUFC one of the top clubs in the country, decided that his only course of action was to walk away and turn his back on the people he had made promises to ? That's still walking away though. However - and I think this is one of the major issues - if in your scenario he had then gone on to come out and properly explain the reasons he left, then that would have made a crucial difference to the clubs ability to move on, whether that was with him, Ashley, or both. But as it was, for an age fans were demanding his return without the slightest clue whether he had any intention of returning whatever Ashley did. He never spelled out what the hell happened, so rather than give us issues that the we could call on the club to address and change, our protests were unfocussed and ended up in childish personal attacks, and ultimately in the isolated vicious threats that saw Ashley throw his first wobbly which led to us entering the ridiculous phase we still find ourselves in; an absentee landlord, no further investment, and caretaker managers coming out of our ears. Don't get me wrong, I don't think any of this was intentional on Keegans part and wish him well (though hopefully without taking us to the cleaners), but his silence and the subsequent silence from the club due to his claim has been a pretty devastating factor in our downfall imho.

constructive dismissal? Yup, no problem with him rising above the emotion and sueing for what he feels he deserves financially. Equally, rising above the emotion and the personalities involved, I hope the club isn't further harmed in the proccess.

If players are sold in January, they will be sold regardless of the result of this case. If Keegan wins and takes any money it will of course be used as an excuse. How in the hell would "We have 10million pounds less money in the clubs coffers so we have £10 million less to spend on players/wages/etc be an excuse? Would that not be....ummmmm...... a fact?
-
FFS It's already the clubs money man! If he wins you will see a big minus in the accounts next year that will have to be recoved somehow. How many more overpriced pints are you willing to down?
-
Maybe people are scared that if Ashley wins, he might suddenly get a sudden surge of confidence and decide he is loved again and do a u-turn and decide not to sell. Thats an absolutely horrific thought so to avoid him even getting close to that kind of mentality, it would be important for KK to win any case.
-
how? if keegan wins, the club (bigger than keegan remember) doesnt benefit at all. we get X million further in the red. Like we would ever see that 10 million anyway, and if KK does win the truth is OUT once and for all. Yet another NAIL in Ashleys coffin. If Ashley wins and KK is proven to be a c*** (which i dont think he will) It finally gets rid of the monkey off the cubs back with the fans and the club doesnt lose 10 mil or whatever. Not that the club would ever see that money. See our last few transfer windows for proof. it's not so m uch that we'd ever see it,more so that any buyer would possibly have to find another 10mill to takeover the club as ashley would be unlikely to pay keegan himself. No, Ashley would have to accept £10m less if he really wants to sell. If you think he is willing to do that. I would take the view that a quick sale would simply become even less likely. Great.
-
The £8 million doesn't come from Ashley, it has to come from the club coffers unless Ashley injects even more of his own money in (which has to be unlikely), so of course this would impact the squad. Whether that's fewer players in, or wage reductions and more players forced out; forgetting the personalities involved, I don't want to see us lose this case as it's bound to impact on our chances of promotion.

I dont think anyone thinks he is a divine god, only the media use it. I think he is a more trust worthy man then the halls, Shepherd and some fucking wankers like Ashley, Llambias and Wise. All the above have been proven to be cunts, yet people like you still have a pop at KK Hitler, Stalin, and Pol bleeding Pot were right radgie twunts too. Doesn't make Keegan any less open to criticism.

Strange that Alex Ferguson and Arsene Wenger both agreed with him though isn't it? Spot on. NONE of the leading managers would have stood for what was foisted upon Keegan. Never mind the left-back issue, look at where Xisco is now (will those previously in denial now finally admit the lad is shite beyond measure?). Imagine what Benitez's reaction would have been.... Not walk, give the player a crack, then take charge of the situation and sell him back to the players old club in the next window? Seems to be how Benitez has handled it in the past. As for Wengar and Furguson backing Keegan, frankly, other than it suiting their own agendas anyway, they have earned the right to walk if they don't get it all their own way (besides the fact that Wenger especially has had players sold he would have prefered to keep and just got on with it). Keegan on the back of his time at city was arguably in a much weaker position to throw his toys out the pram over not getting it all his own way regarding transfers. Good to see he's not so hot headed now then.

Totally agree. There's this notion of people thinking that Keegan walked out because "Xisco was rubbish" Christ. Imagine if every manager walked because they couldn't get that left back they wanted....

A worryingly believable assesment from Wheys Keys Louise. http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2009/aug/25/newcastle-moat-takeover-barclays-loans

Because, as already stated many times, the money from sales goes back into the club, it doesn't just dissapear, so the clubs value is not affected. Personally it seems that most, if not all the sales made have been unavoidable anyway due to the players themselves demanding the moves (even Duff in the end once the offer came in, which was a good deal for me). Ultimately, barring further losses, particularly the likes of Saylor or Enrique, the core of the team that remains is pretty damn good for the Championship and far better than I expected us to hold onto (with the added benifit of a surprising togetherness shown by the lads). This announcement is only not positive from the point of view that is shows that Moat is struggling to get his finances in order. As the club has stated from the start, as soon as anyone manages to get the money together and can satisfy the banks, Ashley is gone.

Crystal Palace 0 - 2 Newcastle - 22/08/09 - post match reaction from page 20

Good stuff. Agree with pretty much all of it, but have to say that for me we looked far from solid anytime they got balls in from out wide or corners. They must of had 5 or 6 free headers that on other days could/should have gone in. I really hoped for more from Jonas in the Championship as well. Yes he got the assists yesterday, but he just seems to let the attention from his markers frustrate him, and, as you say, seems reluctant to just play his game and push us on. All in all though we seemed comfortable and and it never felt like Palace could get back into the game. Great to see the squad seem so together at the end too. -
Strongly disagree, a funeral should be a private affair. There have been (and will still be) plenty of oportunities for public grief and celebrations of his life. His funeral was a private, family affair and has already been held. This is a celebration of his life, not a funeral. Sorry ianovthetoon, not one for these public shows of emotion and just jumped in there without thinking (or reading). :-[
