  1. No, yes, what. What the. What are you jibber jabbering about.
  2. That's exactly my problem though - I can see clearly that they are soundbites (in fact, I'm pretty sure I used the word ) Things aren't going very well at the moment, I want some brutal honesty, not the warm and fuzzy version! He is being brutally honest. Sound bite or not, he is effectively saying that he cannot work with players he hasn't signed. I would like HTT to tell me that that is not an excuse and a poor reflection on his managerial ability. I agree with him mind, though I would also note that he hasn't got the best out of players he has signed either, such as Duff. I don't think it is an excuse, I think he's tried his best to get the best out of the players, but it hasn't worked for whatever reason. But to be fair, who could get the best out of wor lot - or rather certain individuals? You mention Duff but under Mourinho he was just as disappointing for them in the last 12 months of his career at Stamford Bridge as he has been for us, which is why we got him to be honest. I mention Duff specifically because he states that he is failing because they are not his own players. Yet if Duff is anything to go by, then it is difficult to have much faith in his assertion/excuse/whatever that things will be so much better when he does.

He is being brutally honest. Sound bite or not, within that interview he is effectively saying that he cannot work with players he hasn't signed. 4. Roeder has already stated he expects Edgar here next year.
  5. Expanded interview --> HERE <--. Quite the excuse there. Basically admitting that he cannot work with players who he didn't bring to the club, presumably due to their lack of faith in him. Say's a lot for the rest of the team including his forgotten signing Bernard and his loanees, who I assume he wants to replace wholesale (something very few managers would ever have the opportunity to do), and bring in more Duff's and Sibi's who he can actually work with and get the best out of. Har har. Cretin.
  6. "He is staying at St James's Park for the "long haul" in a bid to rid the club of its culture of failure." For this to come from a manager with a record that stinks of failure, that is quite a statement of intent.
  7. Agree with most of that, but I'm still not at all convinced by the arguement for him to become our DOF. I have to say, like KaKa I really like his talk about the future of Newcastle, of building a team, not just the odd star player, but so far it is all just that, talk. Surely that role of DOF is all about having the right contacts, the experience of top setups, and enough respect to keep the manager happy and the chairman on his toes. Im not entirely sure Roeder fits that bill.
  8. "I'm still working with a squad that isn't mine. I would expect to be judged when I have the players I've signed. We will go into next season with my team. I can't change everything in two years. It's like any new business, survive the first two years and then you're up and running." It's a fair sentiment and, as it looks likely that he will stay, I genuinely hope he is right. Good luck Glenn. He seems to realise that he still has a hell of a lot to prove for a lot of us.
  9. theyve obviously not got enough neck, so will always tuck it in. Even if it makes them look like a runty little welsh fuck. Better than some dandy fucker with baby blue edged fabric flopping delicately accross their chilly shoulders.
  10. God knows what the last bit of stuff is about but I'll be looking forwards to the rest of the interview when it comes out. Loving the fact that he put some quite direct questions to Glenn.
  11. Interesting stuff about Bramble, and the vocal minority. I can remember the vocal minority thing being used by Shepherd in the past as well.
  12. Yup. Responses are up! http://www.lukewhostalking.co.uk/2007/03/roeder_the_response.html#comments
  13. God, I know. I think I might just explode with the embarrassment of it all!
  14. I wouldn't trust Shepherd to wipe his arse properly, but that's not a reason to stick with Roeder. Reckon it'll only make us weaker if we change between shit managers every season. Shy bairns get nowt, if you don't buy a ticket... etc etc.
  15. How is it possible that mere fans are able to predict with wearysome regularity your teams and tactics? How is it you often seem oblivious to the obvious? How do you defend peoples belief that you seem utterly unable to change a game and that your teams under perform, and fail to display any sort of drive whatsoever? Remind me again what Terry Mac does for his wedge? Has Nigel Pearson had quite the impact you initially predicted? Did you or did you not meet with Woodgate, if not why would Woodgate say otherwise? Did you call Tommy Craig to congratulate him on his cup success?
  16. He has had ample backing in monetary terms, £20 million in his first window by all accounts for starters. What on earth someone like Steve Coppel would do for that kind of 'backing' I wouldn't like to imagine. As for Roeders inexperience, he has been a manager for over a decade ffs. How on earth is that lacking in experience unless you think he is so shit that he has a hell of a lot more to learn than most of his other mediocre contemporary's.
  17. So, go to Luke's site and get those questions in. Not sure "why are you such a shit manager etc etc" will fly, but there are plenty of questions that could be put to him. Answers so far -
  18. We need a manager that the majority can trust. I'm sure you can appreciate that that is very unlikely to ever be the case under Roeder.

    Would...

Which is the absolute truth. I understand that. Fair play for keeping your optimism.
  20. A few people at the club as well you would hope.
  21. This. We either keep the faith and plan for next year with Roeder, or start talking to prospective managers now (though with most decent managers already at clubs, I would try to keep Roeder sweet until someone could offically join at the end of their season).
