  1. With Roeder as manager ? Highly possible. Whats your solution then genius? Sack him now? And then what? Pretty obvious I would have thought. Joyce, Pearson, and Solano can navigate us through to the end of the season with the help of the ubiquitous honeymoon. Meenwhile we actively negotiate with the best managerial talent accross Europe with a view to making a permanent appointment, once the appropriate candidate is freed from his current commitments. Rather delightfully the proccess would not involve Shepherd, as he said that he would step down if he go the last decision (Roeder) wrong.
  2. Maybe you might like to turn that same critical logic on yourself after having read your defence of his team selection in the match thread. Bipolar-tastic tbh.
  3. i don't get why people take so much notice of any interviews.he'll not tell what he really thinks, just what he thinks we want to here, every manager is the same, and rightly so. So in his interviews he is spouting shite because he thinks it is what we want to hear, not what he believes? Christ, he clearly has even poorer judgement than I could possibly have imagined. You have just convinced me that the man is an utter fraud as well as an arrogant, disillusioned, and thoroughly cowardly manager. Well done.
  4. He took control in a caretaker capacity alongside Craig and Shearer. Beyond the fact that he simply wasn't our contracted manager, to dismiss their input (like the club seemed to with cup winning Craig somewhat unamusingly) is absurd. Surprisingly Roeder himself still harkens back to that season as an example of his success, which somewhat dampens his other recent relevation that wished to be judged purely on his own players, not someone elses squad. Not like Roeder to be so contradictory.
  5. Spot on Hindu.....but there'll always be forum muppets who just breathe negativity. Something in their lives may not be going their way so they need to vent their frustrations on something. I, like you, have faith in Roeder. I know hes not the best but as long as hes moving the club forward, no matter how slow it seems, I'm fine with that. That something being the clubs results, and the other something being the manager responsible for the team possibly? Yes, the criticism is overwhelming, but it comes in the main as a reaction to the slew of negative displays and confused comments coming from SJP. It can be helped though, and I hope you're right about Roeder. Wouldn't it be great if he can, through performances on the pitch and sensible words off it, turn things around and give us an overwhelming sense of positivity for the future. Fingers crossed eh, you obviously have more faith that that will happen than me.
  6. He's confusing me, was he not at the time pleased with the 'response of the players' after the Charlton game despite the loss? As for two or three players being disappointing, I think you would be hard pressed to suggest two or three players who were not disappointing imho. And as you suggest tmonkey, the direction of those players was probably the most disappointing aspect of the lot.
  7. OOoooooh I like it when he talks tough. Still harking back to last season though I see.
  8. By Alan Oliver, The Evening Chronicle Glenn Roeder has warned Newcastle United that he will not tolerate having any "bottlers" at St James' Park. And the United boss has threatened that players not showing bravery or pulling their weight will be shown the door. This is in reply to a point put to Roeder during the Chronicle's exclusive question-and-answer session, with Matthew of Northumberland asking: "What are you going to do to instil some bottle throughout the team?" And it's certainly a fair question after some United heads most definitely went down when Charlton went ahead in their 2-0 victory at The Valley a week past Sunday. Indeed, Roeder says: "Generally speaking, since I became manager of this club last February and bearing in mind the number of injuries we have had, I have been delighted with the response from our squad of players. "This was shown in our results from February to the end of last season when, considering the position we were in, we managed to finish seventh in the Premiership. "However, in our last two games in Alkmaar and at The Valley I was particularly disappointed with the attitude of two or three of our players - not all of them - when we went a goal behind. "This is something I just will not accept. I know who these players are and it will not matter to me whether they have contracts or not - they will not feature in my long-term plans for this football club." Glenn Roeder answers your questions exclusively in the Evening Chronicle tonight!
  9. Not just this incident but Roeder repeatedly seems a little disorganised for a man who clearly prides himself on dealing with the minutiae of club matters. Strange mistakes like not knowing how many subs he has used or talking positively about players who have just signed contracts with another club. Not a big concern or anything, just a bit odd if true.
  10. yes now proceed to maul me for my temerity in not wanting to be associated with a cunt like that if it means denial of the holy grail although I did forget that you are shelling 600 a year, perhaps that colours your judgement You could have stopped at "yes", you angry little munchkin. I could, but it leaves you with an easy shot, whereas the munchkin jibe is another classic trademark gemms is beaten sign Jesus, you're actually claiming a victory here aren't you? Is there a decent blushing smiley on here? gemmil thinks he wins at everything In certain respects Mourinho can bear a remarkable similarity to the outstanding (in the sense of personal achievement) and confident rise of Baroness Thatcher. Shot in the dark here, but peoples dislike of the guy might have more deep seated origins than they would care to let on. Understandable, of course, but hardly a fair basis on which to judge a possible future manager of the club.

Utter selfishness. Gemmil's disappointed in you, and, quite rightly, is not the only one.
  12. Another man whos balls balloon with desire. For Football.
  13. ...or if he wants to catch aids off his manky fucking dog. Fair play to him. I'm not one to take the moral high ground when it comes to a fellas private shenanigans. As long as he keeps it out of the dressing room, it's all good.
  14. I'm not sure. To me Chelsea are disliked for two reasons - a) they keep winning things, and b) they are perceived to have "bought" success. I think Mourinho being a bit of a cock comes a LONG way down in the list of reasons people dislike them. I'm not quite sure what Nobby and Vic's point is, but apparently we would be hated if Mourinho was our manager. I wouldn't give a fuck like, but it would upset Vic. He likes to be liked. As you can tell from his persona on here. see above post as I've already pointed out, nobody hates you just because you win everything, and the money doesnt cause hate, it more jealousy the hate is purely about what mourinho and his team are all about Nonsense. As Reoder pointed out, people like you are a symptom of Newcastle and it's stink of failure. bollocks how wrong of me not to want an arrogant cock as a manager. I wonder if the Chelsea fans will still love him when they're being baited by the ManUre fans The man sweats success. I would dream of our player supping from his sopping slacks, inhaling his sweet smell of victory. All I want is Newcastle to ride the table as if atop a stallion. Mourinho would be a man to ensure that no buck could topple us.

  16. Like the mans style and winning mentality. Could be a good manager for us if he continues to do well, gets them promoted and does a good job in the Premiership. Shearer could learn his trade alongside him if he fancies doin a bit of coaching.
  17. Regarding this. No need to get elated/upset, remember this.
  18. I love the fact that we lost against AZ or Birminham due to simply being Newcastle. Bestest. Excuse. Evar!
  19. Fair play to the bastards. It's a policy that may actually see them turn a profit eventually.
  20. "I am not yet working with my squad. I am working with other managers' squads. Three players (his signings Duff, Martins and Sibierski) is not my squad." http://icnewcastle.icnetwork.co.uk/newcastleunited/news/tm_headline=roeder--no-one-could-have-done-better-than-me-%26method=full%26objectid=18807154%26siteid=50081-name_page.html
  21. Ideally we want a squad close to 40 players. We currently have a squad of 29. Remove Krul, Edgar, Huntington, Pattisson, O'Brian and Carroll for the season, or extended periods. Remove Srnicek, Carr, Bramble, Moore, Babayaro, Sibierski?, Onyewu, and Luque possibly/hopefully. That leaves a squad of 15. Blimey, that would mean Roeder is bringing in 20 or so player this summer. Exiting times ahead lads.
  22. Fuck it. Get it over with. Until he manages this clubs these threads will continue, and I for one have limits. Fine you fuckers give him the job. I dont't disagree because there is nothing for me to base an opinion on, he may well do well, but who the ferk knows. Sentiment rules. Hopefully he will lead us to glory upon glory and his statue shall be encased in gold. A legend he maybe, but tomorrow he shall be.... a God! Blah blah blah. /fingers farking crossed.
  23. Whoevers fault it is it isn't Roeders. As he has just stated, nobody could better him. It is not his fault that the players (those not bought buy him) are shit. He can't work with these players, just as he couldn't work with players at Watford, West Ham or wherever. A man of Roeders quality can only work with "proper players".

    Duff

So basically you're saying he is now shit but a tryer? Well that's just grand.
