  1. Every time I’ve seen him Rose seems to need 10-15mins or so to settle in to a game. Once he does he grows and looks more him old self. If he wants to be here then he’s a good addition. How many big injuries has Willems had now? Seems quite a bit, might be wrong. I do like him though, he’s admire of a threat going forward than rose but not as good defensively. If the price is right on then I’d have both and move Dummett on. I see Clyne has left Liverpool. Sell kraft and yedlin and bring him in. Clyne & Rose were good enough for England for a while, they’d be good enough for us while we transition.
  2. There should be punishment for clubs going into administration. Clubs default to fans owned. No on-field punishment. Well that would be nice but it's pie in the sky stuff under how football is ran currently. Administration absolutely fucks local businesses who provide to football clubs. PL & EFL create a joint team that handles admin of clubs, including getting experience of how fan owned clubs work in other Countries. The league takes control of the club, including ownership and assists on every level until the club passes over to the fans group. Any club being fan owned to submit its accounts every month so the leagues can track recovery and step in if help is needed. I'd like to think it more creative thinking (but aye, things like this will never happen, the leagues just aren't arsed enough to be pro-active and assist) Only way to go would be to create an MLS style franchise system, then you are pretty much ensuring a closed shop. Further more, if the PL and EFL ran clubs accounts, or even ran the clubs themselves, they would just ensure the top players go to the top clubs. It would only be transitional. Once the club has the right people in place to run it properly and the finances are under control then ownership can be moved to the fans. It would stop shit like Wigan happening, but it would also stop other owners running close to the wind, they'd sell up sooner or risk losing everything. Again though, it really is PitS stuff, nothing like that would every happen. It's how i'd do it though.
  3. In a twist with Wigan there's another larger bet that they stay up, banking on the story being leaked and the EFL not applying the points deduction.

  7. Not sure if posted but this nails it. https://www.shieldsgazette.com/sport/football/newcastle-united/newcastle-united-need-saudi-takeover-decision-now-delays-self-serving-premier-league-its-thirst-cash-deceit-blind-faith-all-we-have-2903919
  8. I've just been reading this. Absolutely mental. Just read this on twitter. Absolute mental if there’s any accuracy to that. As mad as it is It’s too accurate not to be, imo. If not that guy needs to start writing bbc dramas.
  9. If this can be proved, absolutely. Would cause ructions as the bet would be fucked.
  10. The PL have been played by Qatar. At this point they just look completely stupid by continuing to delay the takeover due to piracy when nothing out of Qatar can be trusted. Comes to something when we get to the stage of this takeover and the people buying us, with their record, aren’t the most corrupt and underhand party in the deal. PL need to grow some balls and tell them Qatar to fuck off.

    Transfer rumours

He's available for less than that. Schalke said they'd be open to renegotiating the price if we were interested. Probably get him for £7m imo, which is nothing, but i do believe he's on a canny wedge. Not sold either way. His time here hasn't been great, but i don't think that's a fair reflection of his talent, he's better than what we've seen. I don't think he's on the wane either, its simply down to games and getting settled. If a manager needed a player like him then at that price its a good buy, if its simply to make up the numbers as we're a bit short, then its pointless for us and him. Agreed, except for the making up the numbers point. We need a squad player to replace Ki and at that price it makes sense. And as you say he has barely played for a year so there is reason to hope he can improve further. He hasn't been terrible by any stretch of the imagination. If we are taken over, Shelvey, Hayden and the Longstaffs will be making up the numbers, imo anyway.

  13. He’ll get his wages doubled over the summer, takeover or not. 1. Takeover, no problem, best player to build squad around 2. No takeover, Ashley realises he’s his get out of relegation card 3. No takeover, Ashley decides he’d rather have the cash and he gets a new contract elsewhere.

    Dream over. https://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/football/sunderland-afc/michael-dell-and-his-msd-uk-holdings-group-invest-southampton-year-after-their-sunderland-takeover-talks-began-2902625
  15. Incredible and disgusting in equal measures. Reading, ffs. Must be money laundering or something.
  16. You wouldn’t replace them all, but there are 3 standout candidates due to the issues mentioned above.
  17. I’m shocked he’s still in a job, reckon that may change by the end of the day. Someone said Jokingly replace with Harry, I could see that happening, and weirdly, might just work. The players are flat as fuck, a new face and one who’s got a bit of character about him might just turn the tide.
  18. I got laughed at for suggesting dunk as a target after the takeover. I think he’s quality and would certainly improve our options. He's mint. Fernandez is what, 31-32? With a year extension? Dunk would be a fine replacement for him. Fernandez due to age, lejuene due to injuries and Clark due to quality. Would put pressure on our best 2. Depending on price, would be a great addition alongside a young CB such as Godfrey imo, to push out those 3 mentioned. Called squad building, but I think that’s lost on some who just want £100m foreign signings in each position post takeover.

  20. I’m worried for him when a proper manager comes in, demands more in training, isn’t as arm around the shoulder as Bruce and expects more defending from him. That’s when I expect it’ll all fall apart for him here. Atm Bruce is being his best mate, letting him do what he wants and this is making him happy. He’s had previous at other club and this is where I’ll assume it’s down to the manager being more stand off and making players work harder in training.
  21. All I ever see is stones carrying the ball in to an opposition player for England. If that’s what makes you England quality then fair enough, Jamaal isn’t your guy. You really don’t need two centre backs who pass out of defence, not when you have others around strong at it. I think that’s why it works well for us, Jamaal Does all the proper defending and his keeper and partner (and fbs) can take care of distribution. When he does come out it’s usually a shock to the opposition and he gets away with it. Think it was against Sheffield Utd (Certainly a game since the restart) he ran with the ball in to their half and no one was ready to pick him up. He has improved in this department, but probably not enough to allow posters to forget/forgive his pro Ashley comments So will always now be a lumper of a centre who needs replacing as soon as the money hits our account.
