Newcastle United promoted back to the Premier League

And because it directly clashes with Sutton vs Arsenal, so if you were a neutral and on the fence, you might be a bit more tempted by our game. No neutral worth their salt should even consider watching our game whilst the Sutton game is on. It's got giant kill written all over it and it's on Council telly! Council telly was Sky TV because a lot of council houses had satellite dishes attached to them when private houses rarely did. For about 3 years In the early 90s -
I hope they go for it as it would be the end for them. What will end up happening is it will catch them one or two but they'll still need to compete financially and they just brought in someone who's character is questionable. Eventually those characters will still choose a proper London club because why put themselves out with all that travelling when you could live there FT? The fans won't ever trust the players, or connect with them and it will leave the club divided between those who want to survive at any cost (Johnson, shit football, last minute escapes, cheating, off field offences) and those who are having their loyalties tested every week with the latest embarrassing episode and are clinging on supporting out of duty & habit. The latter are tailing off every season. Can't imagine any of this being cheap either, you know Sunderland with all that money to burn. They'd be better off throwing even more money at average players than they do now, but I'm guessing this is what the board are sick of and trying to avoid.

Same here only for them to get back in to second in the last few games. They'll weed each other out over the next couple of months. -
So another draw eh.

I got 9/2 before Palace, put £40 on it. I got 6/1 after their draw with Spurs, hoyed a tenner on. When you look at how close it is now at the bottom, I wish I'd lumped a bit more on. Unless its mathematically impossible these lot will stay up. Still surprised more wasn't made about them fielding a known paedophile who's goals went a long way in keeping them up. Any other club would have had a points deduction. Think its pretty clear that they will never go down.

Norwich looking good of late, win this and we should be good for promotion, especially if we follow up with a win against Villa. Could be a really good period for us (inc Bristol) and i think we're going to need it with Brighton, Hudds and Reading all away following it. So many teams in the promotion/play off race will help us out at some point so if we can hang on to 2nd after Reading we're up, hang on to top spot and we win the league imo.

If Defoe stays injury free they'll stay up.

It'll be a compromise imho. Rafa will want to spend a lot on 4-5 key players with experience (preferably premiership) and the club will want to make young signings for less money and probably from abroad where the market hasn't gone crackers. Somewhere in-between is the sensible answer and the compromise the club as a whole will make. I do feel the squad and the manager have been quite complacent over the last few weeks, but from the pictures yesterday they all seemed fired up...we certainly have been more vocal and on point the last few days.

Easy money. You'll not see 9/2 again.
