Disagree tbh. They went for the short-term fix (Advocaat), and the usual blend of loanees and players towards the back end of their career. We've at least tried to put something into place (experienced manager who in theory would put us in safe hands alongside one of the most highly-rated young coaches about), as well as signing players with their best years ahead of them. I still think in 12-18 months time we'll be in a far better place than we were 12-18 months ago, and ahead of where Sunderland will be for a long time. Realistically we are 3 £10m+ signings away from being a decent team. Lab, CB & holding mid and this team comes good IMHO. Without those 3 we are going to struggle at times like this as we've fuck all to build from the back on.

Tiote has made himself unavailable for football for about a year. We should have torn his contract up in the summer and seen him in the courts. It's a damn shame as we miss him badly.

So in the weekend two teams draw and their managers depart, we get tonked 6-1, are without a win all season and find ourselves at the bottom of the league and yet we still persist with ours. Not even a murmur or hint that he's under pressure.

I think we could put a better team out without him, but we won't because of his name and perceived value. He's Obertan with muscle, and I'm not sure which is smaller his brain or his heart, either way comparing them to a pea would be complementary. His attitude stinks as well, and no doubt infectious on the squad. Him & cisse just don't give a fuck and clearly want out, but unlike cabaye haven't got it in them as footballers to play their way in to a move away. Not sure on Tiote, but the signs are the same, probably with him is he's quite clearly our best defensive midfield option, and we really do suffer for not having anything else like him. Sell sissoko and put the money and squad place in to a defensive option and as a team we will be much better off. I think the club were surprised to still have him on the books in September, thry were banking on him leaving and paying towards more defenders. Fingers crossed that happens in January, we might just stay up if so.

Hope we haven't missed the boat on selling him like we did Tiote or to an extent cisse.

Austin, Ings, Mings & Shawcross were all attainable this summer had we put the right money in for them. I'd have taken Townsend as well, even James Tomkins would improve us massively. Fuck, Johnny Evans would have been a decent signing for us. These are much more like SMC players, but the players we bought were more suitable for a continental manager. None of it makes any sense.

I want to see from him: Mitrovic and Perez up top, Tiote protecting the back four with 3 form players in mid infront of him (ATM a choice of Aarons, winaldum, de Jong, Anita & Sissoko) and we might have some kind of formula that could win games. Seems smc is scared to play Perez and Aarons, doesn't like two up top, thinks he can motivate cisse to give a shit and insists Colback is his number one player. Until all of that changes we won't win a game this season.
