It’s going to be so much worse this summer. The club’s policies have always been: Don’t spend money we don’t have yet Don’t have any over-21s outside of the 25 man squad. Unfortunately we are not going to shift Sels, Lazaar, Saivet and whoever else is surplus to requirements before 8th August as likely buyers are abroad with a much later deadline. No free player slots equals no signings.

Aren’t we already 5th for 2018 just off the back of having a new keeper and Kennedy. If it wasn’t for that 9 game run and a couple of the other games at the start of the season we’d be looking at one of those spare European places that can pop up (based on Cup performance of CL teams)

I know on paper those games we have look worse that what we’ve had recently I feel we have got a moment of form and confidence that there is no reason why we can’t on a game by game basis have confidence of getting something out of every game. We could conceivably end the season at 10th. 13th at worst. Great comeback season all considered. If a buyer is genuine, they can start negotiations Tuesday.

Just putting it out there but would people be happy if we kept the same back four next season? It’s a shocker really that we have no proper games until 31st, that’s 21 days! Presumably Rafa wants to give our current players game time to keep up the momentum, and also to give minutes to some fringe players and Slimani. It’s a savvy move.

Southampton and West Ham look on a downward spiral. Stoke also seem to be going nowhere. West Brom? Pfft. Swansea seem OK. Huddersfield will fight to stay up and just do it. Palace might also just manage to survive as they have been slowly clawing back the points. Above all that we will be absolutely fine, even if we end up getting pulled back in a bit.
