Contrary to popular belief that we missed Cabaye while he was injured i disagree with this. We missed the real Cabaye all season. He has been unfit and jaded and a shadow of himself. The injury could be a real blessing in that Cabaye has returned at his very best, and perhaps the time away will allow him to find a better consistency.

Worth mentioning there is a big doping trial in Spain of a former Barcelona employee. Hopefully that one will blow up first butunlikely as the defendant says he won't talk about certain sports because of death threats.

Think I said this in the Pardew thread but his worst form always seems to come together with the clubs worst form. For that reason I had not written him off and I look forward to seeing if we can get the old Jonas back for the rest of the season.

Recently he has been OK but we still don't know for sure that he can sustain this. Still doesn't hide that there is little beyond him if he gets injured. We've sorted the squad depth out in midfield and in defence but we cannot deny that we are still two short up front.

We have upgraded right back - GOOD We have upgraded centre back - GOOD We have upgraded centre midf - GOOD We have replaced and upgraded on Lovenkrands - GOOD We have signed two defenders for the future - GOOD We have failed to replace Ba and Best - HUGE GAMBLE The squad is undeniably stronger but we've sold our top scorer and now have to rely on an out of form player finding form and staying fit, with the underlying worry that the club merely see Gouffran as a back up in the long term. 7 out of 10

He is going through a bad patch of form, but he does that. Funnily enough he flies when the team flies and sinks when we sink. With the club sinking recently I haven't written him off yet!

Heh? I think he is referring to my post, only Perch is not listed ahead of Anita and Mbiwa is only last on the list because I would prefer to keep him at centre half.

That is not the point though, he is still there using our money to fund his bad behaviour and causing bad headlines for Newcastle United. He gives the team nothing whatsoever. There is no point in having anything to do with him he is bad for the club and by getting rid and trying to cancel his contract it says something good even if we eventually lose out in court.

I think it is a gamble worth taking. If we end up having to pay his contract then we have to. But the money we would lose is money we'd have to spend anyway, and we would have the value of removing a disruptive influence, whilst at the same time giving a positive message about the class of the club and to teach the young players that you can completely Fuck up a career.

Just sack him. The damage he does to the club is far more than any compo he could ever claim from us.
