Look up the McLeish interview on BBC. He calls Cisse's goal a 1 in 10 fluke.
-
They are getting us when we lose the ball in midfield. For that reason, we must not bring on Ben Arfa. Also we definitely missed Taylor when he came off.

Best celebration ever.

-
Krul Simpson Williamson Coloccini Santon Taylor Guthrie Perch Jonas Obertan Ba

Suggests there's a good chance of using Perch as a holding player to give the forwards a bit more freedom. Wouldn't be the worst idea IMO, but really hope he goes for it and plays Ba, Cisse and HBA That quote means no Ben Arfa who loses the ball when we are most vunerable to the counter attack.
-
Those teams seem very biased around the here and now. Certainly Woodgate, Given, Speed, Lee, Ginola, Batty, Bellamy, Ferdinand, Cole, Beardsley are all players you could argue a good case for.

Eh what? Just felt the need to say I find the use of the term 'mong' pretty offensive. The apparently flippant and repetitive use of it in this thread especially so. No biggie. I looked back ten pages and couldn't find one instance of it. Perhaps not this thread but is everywhere. The derogatory references to downs syndrome on this forum are horrific, specifically a recent picture a poster put on here mocking someone with the condition.

His good play was even before the Lovenkrands pass. Collecting the ball and driving it out to Lovenkrands very well before bursting a gut to get forward.
-
There are just too many problems with Ben Arfa. We don't control games when he is playing. He loses the ball too easily. He is selfish. He holds onto the ball too long. Playing him means having to play Jonas as an AMC. His all round play is complete pap, unlike the other midfielders who at least did something. Poor strikers may restrict forward passes, but doesn't stop the sideways passes, the back passes, the full back interlinking, the tracking back, and the discipline, none of which have been evidenced tonight once again. People are putting their hopes on Ba and Cisse, but that is really last chance saloon for him. The cost of having him in the team right now by far exceeds any benefit that he might make one or two good forward passes or dribbles in a game.
-
Terrible again, and forced us to play in a formation we simply aren't comfortable with.
-
Is it the same ref as for Fulham, the linesmen are the same...
-
We have been poor. The formation isn't working. Back to 442 please even if it means taking out Ben Arfa. Looks like Perch was being briefed ahead of coming on for the second half, lots of possibilities for replacements: Ryan Taylor Williamson Santon (with Taylor going LB) Ben Arfa (Taylor going RW) Jonas Best (Jonas going LW)
