  1. I agree it is a statement that has to be made to shine light on the situation from the perspective of our club and actually put some reputational pressure on the PL
  2. Chelsea are in huge risk of CL and PL exclusion in my opinion with this evenings Abramovich revelations. Plays into our hands at least.
  3. Quotes from Bruce saying Almiron will need to adapt to 442 so I guess that’s our system for this year

I could be massively wrong here but I vaguely reading Nickson had vastly changed the way we scout players using data from players all over the world. I think it was brought up around the time Rafa didn’t want to work how Carr operated and favoured a more statistical approach. We did have a database even in the days of Carr and we only have a small number of scouts to check the database recommendations. Before Rafa we were paying the cheapest fee (Western Europe only) but Rafa and Nickson were eventually able to encourage Charnley to approve more countries on the subscription. So how does that work? The club pays for a service to gain data on players? Actual Scout Data from real scouts presented in a FM style. Those who own the database software provide the scouts.
  5. All I know about him is what I read on here and I've seen nothing to explain the love-in that some have. I really don't have an opinion on him, but the way people go on about him is ridiculous. In terms of eloquent and informed writing about the club over a period of at least five years and capturing the mood of the fans his writing has been second to none. If the takeover goes through, he should be credited as the 4th or 5th most influential person in the takeover happening as it was no doubt his writings in the Times that were read by Staveley and made her decide to make this her life’s venture
  6. The Bournemouth win was Bruce’s performance peak

Solano has been coaching him in the national junior teams. Suspect he’s the beat Peruvian Nobby has seen and he’s alerted the club as it will be good for Peru to get him over to Europe as soon as possible.

My FM approach has always been to buy these South American kids for £300k, develop them, loan them, and then either keep if any good or sell for £3m We may as well try doing that

Could it be Cacapa come to fix our centre back crisis?
  11. I could reignite the tiered racism debate I initiated in the transfer rumours thread if you want

    Joelinton

based on....? And even with this logic, shouldn't Almiron be #1? Sorry Almiron is at number 4 and Shearer 5

    Joelinton

Really don’t think we paid £40m for him. We somehow managed to inflate the fee probably for the work permit and PR but in real terms he cost £8-12m. In terms of the transfer fee removing the performance elements, our record signings are: 1. Wilson 2. ASM 3. Owen 4. Shearer 5. Wijnaldum

    Joelinton

Made the point of this in another thread but against West Ham he didn’t bother to chase down a nearby full back giving them loads of time on the ball. The good ball they made up field led to a 5-10 min spell of West Ham domination where they had several shots and corners. If he can’t even be trusted to close down a full back having just come on as a sub, what can he be trusted for?

West Ham was the final straw for me with Joelinton. We are 1-0 up and all he had to do was run 5 metres towards their full back to put him under a bit of pressure. Instead he just stood still where he was, their full back had all the time in the world to hit the ball forward and West Ham suddenly had positional dominance until Almiron came on 10 mins later. He’s either too thick or too lazy so given he’s got no quality either I hope we never see him on the pitch for us again.

Manquillo edges Beye in my view.
  17. The PL are not a cash rich organisation either, the operation is actually quite small. This could get very tasty, especially in the current climate. One things for sure other clubs will be fucking furious If the PL has the financial support of those other clubs they'll be alright. £10million off each of them should see them alright. Can't see many clubs happy to lose 10/20million just to keep the PL going. Would imagine if the PL lose and have a massive bill, the clubs would let them go to the wall and just set up a new league organisation...Ultra League or something along those lines Neither can I. That was a starting point. But I'm sure a scale could work. £50M a piece from Man U&C, Chelsea, Liverpool, Spurs and Arsenal would do it. Wouldnt be permitted by PL rules Think the PL have shown that they are quite happy to ignore their own rules when it suits them. Also the mentioned clubs would probably the most reluctant to contribute anything to save them, considering they frequently try and argue that they should get a bigger share of the broadcasting money anyway This could be a way of negotiating such a deal. The clubs won’t be able to negotiate and agree. £20m could just be wiped off everyone. Which brings another problem - why would Leeds Fulham Brom pay for decisions taken when they weren’t members? Do you make Bournemouth Watford and Norwich suffer as a result? Did they even have a say
  18. Key questions now are what are the timescales and what is the scope. Hoping we can get this fastracked in the basis of delays causing operational harm

  20. Interesting to consider how each club may react to different legal scenarios based on predicted baseline position. Definitely Support: Man City’, Newcastle, Sheffield Utd* Possibly Support: Southampton*’ Don’t give a fuck: Chelsea’, Leeds’*, Man Utd’*, West Ham’* Probably oppose: Arsenal, Aston Villa’*, Brighton*, Burnley*, Crystal Palace*, Everton’, Fulham*, Leicester, West Brom*, Wolves*’ Definitely oppose: Liverpool, Spurs The clubs with * are certainly likely to increase support and push for some agreement based on any credible financial threat. The clubs with a ‘ are the ones that will freak out if the issue of reviewing each clubs directors consistently, annually and in light with any new information. Because of that list I don’t think we’ll get our day in court, we will settle in advance and the PL Directors are dead men walking
  21. Said this before we could end up going full value of club plus costs incurred to keep it going. That’s £400m or £20m a club that has to be paid off it of each clubs share of the tv income
