  1. Where would he play though if he signed? Surely he would want to be a first choic
  2. I haven't seen that much of him really but he is rated highly by people who have seen him. Surely if we match whatever offer them teams put in we would be the most appealing for him to join. We're the most likely to go up and he might fancy a crack up here. Saying that though, there will probably be Premiership teams who come in for him.
  3. Routledge, Jonas and Lovenkrands should be the first names on the teamsheet when it comes to the front 6 as far as I'm concerned.
  4. Why on earth would he put Routledge on the bench? If he's fit and he's been playing in this league regularly then put him straight in from the start. He'll be raring to go and what better place to start than a home match against his old club where if we put in a decent performance we will win and thats only good for confidence. Start the new lads (if we sign Williamson as well), lets not fuck about.
  5. I used to tell him he was a decent young player.
  6. Its funny how attitudes change so quickly. Not long ago most people were moaning and negative after it looked like the Williamson deal was off, Harewood was crocked and there wasn't anything looking close. Now we've pulled Routledge out of nowhere, we look like we're gonna sign Williamson and then we'll be able to put out full efforts into signing a striker to complete our squad for the rest of the season. We could still do with more depth like but realistically we're not gonna do much more than that now. These players aren't exciting names like we've been used to in the past, but at least they're a great age, hungry, proven quality in this division and they will feel they have something to prove if we go up.
  7. Guthrie 8 assists? I knew he had a few but didn't know it was that many. Good to see Jonas up there as well. It says on our official website that Routledge has 7 goals in something like 49 games for QPR which is pretty much a seasons return. Not too bad for a winger.
  8. Very happy with this! I'd almost resigned myself to the fact that Hughton didn't think we needed some width on the right then out of nowhere we've gone and bought a pacey right winger at a good age who is a very good player in this division. This signing could turn out to be our best and most important signing of this window. Even if we sign another striker, a natural right winger will give us a whole new dimension.
  9. Lets hope so. Straight into the team in the middle.
  10. Its a bit random for the Chronice to report this sort of story if its just specualation so late in the day.
  11. A few hours ago my mate whos a Sunderland fan said that Jones is on his way for a medical on Monday but he said a fee has been agreed. He's a Sunderland fan and his source was the popular "I know someone whos friends with" but he's not an idiot. He mentioned this before this story had broke but obviously the storys differ. I can't see him going on loan mind.
  12. He left at a late stage in his career for a much better club with a proper manager and with much better short term prospects. It hasnt worked out for him so far but I do not blame him one bit for leaving us. As far as I'm concerned, if he is cheap then I would sign him straight up if he was available. He's better than what we've got and better than what we will be able to get in our first season back up. Thats all that matters for me like.
  13. Harper, Simpson, Taylor, Coloccini, Enrique, Taylor, Guthrie, Smith, Jonas, Nolan, Carroll
  14. They called it The Exhibition, then the Newcastle Brown stand, then the South Stand, then the club started to refer to it as the Gallowgate again and now its the Sports Direct stand is it?
  15. They had a points scheme thing going on last year for away matches didn't they? Would 9 points actually be a lot if they brought that back in when going to apply for Sunderland, Manure, Smoggies etc? I've been to quite a few away matches but not all of them were bought from my season ticket. Suppose the ones which were and cup matches must have built a few points up though.
  16. I've just been in contact with the box office to sort out an issue with my account on the official website box office and have now managed to log in. I no longer have a season ticket but I did have one from August 01-May 07 then I had one in 08/09 as well. Obviously I missed the 07/08 season which means that I had to get a brand new season ticket and lose any loyalty points etc (or so I thought). Anyway to my surprise I have just logged onto my account now and they have all of the details for the tickets I have bought from August 00-May 07 and I have 9 loyalty points. I was shocked because you usually lose all of the loyalty points you have when you don't renew dont you? It does not have details of the season ticket I bought in 08/09 which makes me think there is a bit of a fuck up here and the box office haven't cleared all of my past applications and purchases therefore meaning I haven't lost any of my points from the first time I had a season ticket, but they have cleared last seasons points. Surely a fuck up eh?
  17. Aye I had a season ticket up there last year and enjoyed it apart from being further towards the middle bit where most people sit down.
  18. How come when I go to buy a ticket from the online box office it says they're £15? I thought ticket prices started from £20.
  19. Whats it like up there this season? Does it fill up or is it half empty with 10,000 people missing? Gonna buy a ticket for next week but I don't want to go up there if its empty.
  20. Yes, at half time he said it wouldn't be too long before Steven Ireland came on - low and behold not 5 mins into the second half who comes on? And he only got £2m!? What a guy
  21. McDonald reckons its a midfield 3 with Nolan playing behind the strikers
  22. Surely Lovenkrands and Harewood will play in the reserves against Boro next week then.
  23. Bench looking much better with the addition of the loan signings like. With R.Taylor and Coloccini likely to be back soon we could soon have a senior team and bench rather than a bench full of kids.
