Howay man, if we can't afford the players we are letting go now then we certainly can't afford Geremi. We should make him available for free (if he isnt already). Fuck trying to get money for him, I'll see getting his wage of the bill as getting money for him.

The only first team players I actually have any fondness for now are Harper, Taylor, Enrique, Guthrie, Jonas and Carroll. Thats probably more than a lot of people still! The rest can fuck themselves.

Have you seen how many defenders we have left? Have you seen how many prolific goal scorers we have in our squad? Have you seen the dazzling pace we have in our team? Unless replacements are brought in quick sharpish, we have an excellent chance of being relegated again. We will end up in no mans land if we don't sort this f***ing mess out sharpish, but relegated from the Championship? I take your point about the defence and we really do need to strengthen there (I think we will in the end), but we will definitely have Carroll, Ameobi, Ranger, Smith and Duff (if we're desperate) available for us. I don't think we will lose any of them due to huge wages, not being good enough for a Premiership team to sign, and the young lads will feel they will have a chance to shine. Them players there will see that we're not totally f***ed up front. Theres nobody who thinks we need a couple of strikers more than me like, but if the worst comes to worst. Lets not delude ourselves into thinking this squad is strong enough for any sort of promotion push, but it won't go down either. I think a Premiership team would take a punt on Alan Smith and Duff by the end of the window tbh, could just be wishful thinking but seeing the likes of Zamora going for 5 million gives me hope. Can't see it at all. Isn't Duff meant to be on £60,000 and Smith on a similar wage as well? We would want £2-3m each for them I think plus any club who wants them will have to offer them a wage which isnt too far of what they're on now or they will just stay here.

I don't know why people are blaming him for moving. He's done his best for us and put his body on the line at the end of last season. He stated he would be happy to stay and help us get promotion and I have no doubts he would have IF he had a manager and was given a contract extension. What was he supposed to do? He doesn't owe us anything. He could have stayed with us in this current mess and went into the new season with no manager and a contract which offers him no security if he gets a bad injury, or he could sign for Aston Villa with a 3 year contract in his pocket, playing in a good team with a good manager and he will be challenging in the top 6 next season. Its a no fucking brainer. Some people need to think for a minute.

Its like selling Solano to Villa a few years ago. Fans favourite and he seemed to love playing for us.

 I'd love to see Phil Browns orange head now. I'm very sad to see him leave but I accepted it a few weeks ago now. I'm happy for him that he's signed for a good club, he's one of the few of our players who I acutally like.

Sebastien Bassong signs for Tottenham Hotspur, fee undisclosed

£12M? The Times reckons it's £8m up front, rising to £12m. We'll never get that extra £4m like, unless it's based on Spurs going for top four but ultimately being rubbish. That'll do! -

How much we got of the wage bill now then? Owen - £105,000 Viduka - £70,000? Cacapa - £30,000? Edgar - £10,000? Martins - £65,000? Bassong - £6,000 Beye - £50,000? Obviously only speculating from what we read in the papers but its got to be £300,000 at least. -
Don't worry lads he didn't say it! He doesn't know anything. He brought the thing up about Moat but theres hardly been any callers on about it really. I repeat, he didn't say its off and he didn't claim to have any inside knowledge at all.
-
I listened to it and he did not say that I am 99.9% sure. He was certainly not speaking as if he knew him either. Don't think he knows him.

More than good enough for this division. No doubt Coloccini and Enrique will probably be away soon, but that defence would be good enough if we had a half decent midfield. which we dont... Thats stating the obvious, but that defence is still good enough. If we had Man United's defence it would still be exposed with that midfield.

I bet Ashley, LLambias and Wise will have a few exclusives for the papers if this goes through.

Not wanting to get ahead of ourselves, but if Moat does manage to complete a takeover this weekend you would think that he would have already had long talks with Shearer. Surely Shearer would be in chargeby Tuesday/Wednesday if it happens.

I thought he was injured? I'd start with him definitely if he was fit. He would be the first name on the team sheet actually. -

Surely Nolan wouldn't have been playing off the striker if he wasn't going to be playing that role for the West Brom match. Is Beye out? If he is I'd say the team pretty much picks itself apart from a straight choice out of Carroll and Ameobi. -
£3m maximum for Nugent like. Him and Beckford would be very good signings as far as Championship strikers go.
-
If this offer is £80m+ then Ashley would be an indiot not to sell. He has to cut his losses and get out of this club. Can you imagine the reaction if he rejects an offer from someone with the club at heart who has made the highest bid and he takes it off the market. Surely he knows he can't reject this.
-
Carver just basically said that Nolan and R.Taylor aren't good enough and Shearer wouldn't have signed players on that quality. Also he wouldn't have allowed Milner, N'Zogbia and Given to leave.

I was thinking the other day I quite fancy having a mini league for a small amount of money each match week and I asked a couple of people and they are up for it. It would just be the Premier League website mini league thing with reliable people only. Don't know if anyone would be interested at all like? It would depend on numbers but it would be quite fun paying for 50p-£1 per week (so you would be paying either £19 or £38 over the whole season depending on how much people think is right). If there was loads of players then 50p would make the total at the end of the year a good amount still. The money would have to go in a paypal account or something. Obviously it can only work properly if reliable people enter who will pay the amount each week. Was thinking it could be either winner takes all in May, or winner takes 75% with runner up 25%. Shoot me down if its a shit idea like, i'm going to do it with some mates though so if anyones interested then even better.
