  1. Heard Ameobi had been approached.....but Bury it is a command he doesn't understand.
  2. Hope this isnt true. The fact that we'd be gambling on our future with Hughton is bad enough. The fact that we'd be taking such a risk for the sake of having Joe Kinnear as our permanent manager is tragic.
  3. The Skysports.com story looks like they have took their information from the Sunday Sun. Wouldn't say theres much in it at the minute.
  4. Leads me to think that the £8m was going to be used on Johnson, with the £4m Milner money on the right back. You would think that with the probable sales of Xisco and Geremi we would bring in another £4m at least, then you've got the huge wages we will be getting off the wage bill with the probable departures of Cacapa, Geremi, Owen and Viduka. Their wages alone must be around £250,000 a week or more. Surely with them wages gone we should be able to spend a few million extra on players on lesser wages. Even without any extra money from Ashley i would expect with the £12m there, transfer fee's from probable sales, and wages reduced massively from out of contract players, we should have £20m to spend like.
  5. I would have liked him to have stayed there but i don't tthink they would have went down anyway. I think the bottom 3 will stay that way. Surely now with a few players back we should be capable of getting ourselves out of trouble. We do have some hard fixtures coming up but if we can manage to get 3 points out of either Everton or Bolton then that would put us on 30 points. Not the easiest of matches but we should be looking to get something out of all of our home matches, and Bolton are beatable. I don't think you'll even need 35 points to stay up this year, but with matches coming up against Boro and Portsmouth at home we should be getting a few points on the board. We don't have any excuses now, we've got matches coming up where we should be taking points, and if we don't then we've got nobody to blame but ourselves. I think the next 2 matches plus Boro and Portsmouth are going to be key matches now. Get 7 or 9 out of them and we will pick a few points elsewhere and that would see us safe. I'll be fucking disgusted if we don't get more than 6 points out of them.
  6. Even the way he clears his throat every 8.3 seconds in his interviews does my head in Did anyone hear him on the radio talking about the bids for Johnson and Richardson? He called Richardson something like "Richans" He's also been talking about Nolan saying he's especially delighted to play him because he can play in a number of positions. Sure the thick cunts getting him mixed up with Ryan Taylor
  7. Depends on how i'm doing for money at the time. If i'm fine for money i will.
  8. As much as i don't rate Ameobi, why would anyone start Smith ahead of him?
  9. I think he's decent. Absolutely no point in putting a bid in for him though because not only do we have enough "decent players", but our best winger is most effective on the left, Sunderland would never have accepted any sort of bid from us for one of their better players on deadline day, and he is probably the last player we need at the minute looking at the posituions where we are weak in and type of players we need.
  10. Just looking at the fixtures theres some good looking matches this weekend as far as potential results for us could go. I wouldn't want it postponed. Three points for us on Saturday and a very good chance of defeat for the likes of Boro, Blackburn, Hull, Bolton, Spurs and Stoke or Sunderland, plus us of course stopping West Brom getting any points would be massive. I would go: ---------------------------Harper--------------------------- R.Taylor------S.Taylor----------------Bassong-----Enrique Duff----------Nolan--------------------Butt----------Lovenkrands ---------------Ameobi----------Martins------------------ If Carroll is fit i would start him over Ameobi. I would be wary about starting Viduka cos he is vital to us for the rest of the season if we can get games out of him, so i would look to give him a decent 20 minute run out. I think that team is strong enough to get a win down there. Its not anywhere near our best team but just seeing a couple of fresh faces and having Martins back gives me a bit of confidence for this match. Its not a good enough team to beat many teams like.
  11. I have to say like i reckon there is a chance we might get another centre midfielder in if a player becomes available. We might have Nolan, Barton, Guthrie and Butt in our squad, but i wouldn't rule out Ashley agreeing to sign another midfielder on the basis that Barton leaves in the summer.
  12. With the midfielders we are being linked with, I don't think they would have started on Sunday even if they had signed in time for the match. I don't think JFK would have the bottle to put in a foreigner in the middle of the park from the start in our biggest match of the season.
  13. He's a fucking disgrace. Lets be honest, he hasn't put in a good run of games since the vesy start of last season. His attitude stinks and he doesn't offer much to us because of that. Shame because he could be a very good player, but with that sort of attitude we don't need him. Fuck off you horrible little bastard. I won't lose any sleep over him. Lets be honest, as far as consistent performers and contribution when they do play go we miss Beye, Barton, Guthrie, Owen, Viduka and Martins so much more.
  14. I thought Guthrie was only out for a few weeks?
  15. Now we're talking. Christmas was last month.
  16. No he isn't. Don't be fucking stupid, he's a footballer.
  17. If we manage to get him he would be a really good signing imo. I see that Bolton fans are saying negative things about him, but maybe a move would do him good. He's been at Bolton for years now. I tell you what, if we could have Guthrie and Nolan together fit until the end of May then i would be a lot more confident than i have been over the last 20 hours. I have been fearing the worst after last night. This gives me a bit more hope IF it goes through. I'd even put up with Nicky Butt in midfield for another couple of weeks until Guthrie is back, as long as we bloody get him.
  18. That first half performance reminded me of a Souness team at its very worst. I didn't think that was possible.
  19. Surely then the team picks itself Harper, Taylor, Coloccini, Bassong, Enrique, Jonas, Barton, Geremi, Duff, Owen, Carroll Bench: Forster, Cacapa, Edgar, Lovenkrands, Lua Lua, Xisco, Martins?
