Absolutely nothing. We've let 2 central defenders go on free transfers, and we don't have a central defender at the club over the age of 21 (apart from Ramage but he doesn't count). Allardyce said when he came that he needs to sign probably 4 or 5 players, plus replace the ones who left. Ben Haim for free and Ronzenhal for a few million would be good business. I assumed we'd want to keep taylor starting though, and let him develop into a good player. And i wouldnt have though ben haim or this guy would come to be on the bench. So ben haim and rozenhal starting with taylor on the bench? Well i don't know for certain but if i was to guess i would say Taylor and Ben Haim would start the season together. Then again i have a funny feeling we might be starting the season with 3 at the back. Don't know why though.

Taylor, Ben Haim, Rozenhal, Ramage ( ), Edgar, Huntington Would people be happy with that if it comes of, or does anyone expect 4 quality centre halfs (having faith in Allardyce's judgement that Rozenhal is quality) Ramage is shite i know, but i think he'll probably be backup.

He will get first team football if he comes here tbh. Probably be one of the first names on the team sheet.

If they buy these standard of players they will build a good team, but they are only ever gonna be top 8. Not really good enough when your spending that kind of money. They are gonna be spending top class money on just canny/good players.

Probably in the same boat. Souness would have fell out with Anelka quickly and Viduka would have been permanently injured.

We've just bought one, or will do tomorrow. That's the last position that needs filling now. Barton doesn't score and create that many goals tbh. He does have a decent record. Emre should go. He is good on his day, but hes far too inconsistent and i don't really see what he contributes to the team. I know he had a good spell in the middle with Butt last season, but i don't want to see them two playing together in the middle next season, and i don't think it will happen. I think with the money we could get for Emre we could get a player who is more reliable and offers us more. Just my opinion obviously though.

Personally i would look to get in an attacking midfielder with an end product now and let Emre go. Spend big if we have to, but get the right man in. I am not sure who at this minute though.

Barton has proved he is a good player though. I think theres a general change in attitude from our fans now when it comes to signings because people seem to have more faith in Allardyce's judgement than they did with Roeder's. If Roeder had signed an unknown player for £1.5m everyone would be saying "who the f***'s this?". If Allardyce brings in a few cheap unknown players i think our fans will be happy and have faith in his judgement. and if Roeder had signed the well-known Barton for £5.5m? Well as you can see, people seem to be happy in general. It didn't seem like Roeder could handle the dressing room, and he certainly wouldn't have been able to handle Barton. If Allardyce can't sort him out then i doubt anyone can.

We are not one of the big teams anymore. Accept it. We have to rebuild. No top top player is gonna sign for us at the minute. We can get good players in like Baines, Ben Haim and Viduka though. If we bring in them kind of players we can get ourselves back into the top 6. That would be the start, then we could think about aiming a bit higher.

I've got mixed feeling as well. On a positive note we have got rid of an unhappy player for maybe up to £8.5m which is a £2m profit, and we are also getting in his replacement for £5.5m which could potentially leave us with an extra £3m. I think he's a good player, but he's an idiot. I hope we can get another central midfielder in though as well. I'm not 100% convinced Emre will stay here either

So if he's completing his move tomorrow, that means Parker is gonna be completing his most to West Ham today or tomorrow?

It's a risk buying one of Barton or Reo Coker, never mind both of them. We need at least one central midfielder who can score double figures or near enough.
