The Magedia Thread - Sunderland suck trollolololol
Benwell Lad replied to Rocker's topic in Football
Poor Louise has to be a contributory factor in why the once proud Gaurdian is now a laughing stock which is handed out free everywhere as no one will buy it. JFK - FFS - didn't nufc.com use that one the day he was appointed and hasn't every other medium used it since. Geddit ? -
Mike Ashley - Newcastle's best ever chairman/owner.
Benwell Lad replied to Benwell Lad's topic in Football
Aye, as a mechanism for supplying instant success it has proved sadly deficient. As a mechanism for supplying almost instant relegation though, it's proving worryingly efficient. Any relegation type form (and it certainly was recently) is more down to a lack of leadership (manager walkout) and a woefully under strength team due to injuries and suspensions, and not as you attempt to imply due to any structure or plan. But I'm sure you really knew that anyway. -
It's just plain embarrassing that these people are fruadulently claiming to represent us. They have one agenda - an obvious hatred of Mike Ashley and anything he has anything to do with - and and an insulting and patronising tone to anyone who disagrees with their petty sentiments. As always with tin pot organisations they shout loud about what is wrong but do any of them have any idea of what will follow Ashley now they have succeeeded in their objective of forcing him to sell. I very much doubt that Ashley nor his mob will be laughing into Kristel, Highbury beer, cup of Rosy Lea or anything else right now. Their personal attack on a Newcastle player is absolutely disgraceful - in fact these are just the type of fans we could do without at SJP. The player they criticise came here from La Liga with a decent reputation but frankly should have been nowhere near the first team for at least 3 months. Due to a managerial walkout and a bunch of other circumstances he was thrown in at the deep end and despite being out of his depth absolutey ran his pods off for the team. Credit to him for that. A disgraceful personal and politically motivated attack lads, but that seems to be your way of bringing attention to your cause. The sooner this scam organisation is wound up before it causes more damage and embarrassment to NUFC and it's supporters the better.

Ashley's 'structured' plan as you put it was designed to raise the sell-on value of the club, nothing more. Clubs with debt are less attractive options, even more so in a credit crunch. Clubs without debt are very attractive options, even more so in a credit crunch. He will find this out very soon despite the on-field mess as he gets himself a healthy profit for his initial investment. That has been his intention all along. I'm not surprised you see it another way though, given your absurd claims in the opening post. More like KK blew a hole in your hopes that Ashley was the real deal, that's what this is all about. You don't want to admit he isn't and never was the real deal. Instead you'd rather denigrate a man who has done far more for this club than the man you laughingly claim as the best ever chairman or owner we've ever had. When the football world is criticising the English game for selling it's soul to any foreign billionaire who fancies buying a club, you and the angry rabble have got what you wanted by forcing out Ashley. You will soon find out who your protests have brought to the club. I hope you are happy with the new owners. -

Aston Villa and Spurs had a similar "vision" at the start of the Premiership and it set them back 15 years. Unless you've been on Mars for the last 6 months you may realise we live in very different financial times to those of the last 15 years. Ashley's intention was not to stop spending, just to stop spending stupidly. Net spend under his tenure would suggest differently. I think his assumed tenure was a lot longer than one year. Therefore to judge him (or anyone) else on the one year since taking over a sinking ship would be unfair in the extreme. But there again what do the angry mob care about fairness ? you know what mate. This whole thread is ridiculous, from the title and the suggestion you are making , right down to the posters who - including yourself - continue demeaning the one man who has shown this club how to behave like a top football club, and drove everybody on in the process when he was given the power and freedom to do it. It was obvious ages ago that profit was the main motivation for them running this football club, and like true non-footballing people, they didn't understand how to go about doing it. They thought that 52000 fans would come and watch the club, come what may, [like a lot of others to be honest, that didn't see the club in the 70's and 80's], and probably wouldn't be told either [same again]. I don't suppose you and a few others will EVER admit to the success of the last board and the fact that they understood that they had to compete - much to your discredit - which in terms of "ticked boxes" is the biggest of all, and the reason why personally I will continue to point this out until someone else comes in and also understands. Because for me, no board will have a hope of matching them until they do. Saving the "sinking ship", when you are getting 52000 crowds, doesn't need too much to get it back on the right course again, and I will point out - again - that only 2 years ago they were in the UEFA Cup and finished 7th in the league, and currently most of the clubs top players, including the captain and his striking partner in particular, were also signed under the old board, not the current one. A league position that was only achieved twice in over 3 decades prior to the last board walking into the club. THAT is perspective. The sharp crash in the last year, should really not make it necessary any more for people like me to keep pointing it out. Ashley, best chairman/owner ? What a f***ing joke. We might still get worse again, and thats the frightening thing, but that also means another regime inferior to the Halls and Shepherd. Don't hold your breath if this does happen too. But Keegan has exposed them for the amateurs that they are. You know what mate, need to re-read the OP to understand where the title of the thread was coming from. P.S. I actually liked Freddie, but when he fired SBR, replaced him with Souness and then seemed intent on bankrupting the club to restore his own popularity I went off him a bit. -
It follows out from that very well thought out, radical and earth moving pie boycott. What next a boycott of holidays in the south of England and trips to London ! F@cking idiots. As Joe would say.

Muck you need to learn to read properly. Whoever's FAULT it was, the present global financial situation will impact on every industry and especially those financed in the way Premiership football is. Ashley's proposed structure looks increasingly sensible with what is going on, whether that was by foresight or accident. Even Manu, Chelsea etc will be looking very carefully at their books and spending in the near future. Clubs in debt and operating with disproportionate salary bills could be in big trouble before long. -
Thats about the top and bottom of it. And the laughable arrogance of them agreeing to meet with future owners to speak on behalf of Newcastle supporters. This organisation needs to be halted before they cause further lasting damage to our club.

In light of the global financial crash, the situation overspending West Ham now find themselves in, unsustainable Premier league wage bills and football's general level of debt, Mike Ashley's structured plan for the club and it's finances looks quite visionary. A shame that Keegan's walkout and the sub primes demonstration blew such a hole in what now looks like it was a very astute longer term plan for NUFC's prosperity and success. Will NUSC, whoever they are, ammend their position depending on changing circumstances or will they stubbornly stick to their only agenda (cockney mafia out) whatever happens, thinking Newcastle United are immune to global economic factors.

Daft statement how do they know what is been done to sell the club. A ridiculous statement written by self important opportunists who fraudulently claim to represent Newcastle supporters.
-
Hope he realises most people are embarrassed by his banner. He should be too. That 'cockney mafia OUT' banner had another airing. I wish someone would set light to the f***ing embarrassing s****. One mans crusade to make himself into something he isn't. I heard the flag was the handy work of a reasonably well known Toon fan who for years put busses on to away games? If so i'm very disappointed in him.

Are there professional agitators in the media where NUFC is concerned?
Benwell Lad replied to Big Geordie's topic in Football
I'd still buy the Financial Times as it maintains quality but doesn't do a lot of football. Henry Winter is always worth reading and our very own Journal has resisted the temptation to go down market. Apart from that I wouldn't use them as @rse paper. -

Benwell Lad replied to Big Geordie's topic in Football
We only see the North East Editions of the national newspapers. I'd imagine the London editions are a bit different in that respect. A lot of nationals love putting the boot in too. Fortunately most people I know in the south STILL have a bit of a soft spot for us and find us interesting. -
I think what most of us agree on, if not the starting XI, is that we have a reasonable squad and good players when we get them all fit. The difference of opinions in the XI proves we have options too. In the last month we have been down to bare bones and having to play people out of position and that has been the main reason for the poor results. Our first choice XI will be a good Premiership team and over the course of a season injuries and suspensions means everyone will have a chance to play their part whether they're everyone's favourite or not.

Benwell Lad replied to Big Geordie's topic in Football
Actually they don't. Most of these rags like the Guardian, Mail etc are given away in every hotel, airport, train station etc nowadays. People stopped buying them cos they're so bad, so they now give them away in order to maintain their ABC figures to impress advertisers. Selling or not selling it's no excuse for printing blatant and scurrilous lies as they do. -
I remember him clattering one or two opponents last season, so I wouldn't say pansy I would go as far to say physical strength is one of his main attributes.

Agreed. Maybe replace "professional agitators" with "bitter macum's who got a poor university degree in English and decided to pursue a career in journalism" and it could be closer to the truth. -
Is that the Enrique who plays left back for Newcastle ? Cos if it is you're seeing a completely different person/player to the one I am.
-
Given/Harper Beye Coloccini Bassong Enrique Jonas Guthrie Barton Duff Owen Martins Cover and substitutes from Given/Harper, Taylor, Cacapa, Zogbia, Butt, Geremi, Gonzalez, Viduka, Xisco, Smith, Carrol, Shola and a few others. Realise the XI will be up for debate, and injuries and suspensions will always blur things but that side would be top 8 material imo and just shows how depleted and shapeless we've been in the last few weeks.

The Magedia Thread - Sunderland suck trollolololol
Benwell Lad replied to Rocker's topic in Football
On Setanta Sports the journalist they us to summarise the football - not sure who he is but he sounds a bit simple - was talking about Owen's exclusion from the England squad and yesterday's game. Regarding Joe Kinnear - first of all he was saying the FA should look into Joe's swearing outburst and also look into him trying to get near the pitch at the end of yesterday's game with a view to extending his touchline ban. Then he said that Joe had not seen either of the Newcastle goals as he walked from the Director's box to the dressing room and the fact that Newcastle had scored when Joe was not watching "summed up his managerial ability". So I guess that means the simpleton implied that the Newcastle team started playing because they knew Joe was not watching during the two minutes at either side of half time ! Doesn't this really illustrate the level of stupidity and prejudice we're up against in the press.
